New Mastering Concept Plugin

Hi Vojtech,
the last days i demoed Izotope Ozone 5 and i have to say that i like the concept of one plugin with all in it (EQ, Dynamics, Reverb etc.) for Mastering.
I tried to reach the same conclusion with your plugins and what did I get?
A better sound but it takes me much longer, then with the Ozone 5 concept.
What do you think about this concept, of an all in one mastering plugin with your plugs inside (like AutoDynamicEq, Convolution or mreverb, multiband dynamics and limiter and so on)?
Thanks and greetings
Marek

Hi Marek,
I was thinking about it, but the truth is it's not really something helpful. The only addition is that you "put" all plugins at once. And then you have the limitation of having just the set of them there is, with separate plugins you can for example use 2 compressors if you want. So personally I'm not really fan of it, it seems more like it looks easier, but at the end it quite isn't.
Anyway I'll think about it.

Hi Vojtech,
i understand, but that's the fact! You have to create a plugin, which is more flexible and open for the user. Something like a construction kit. You need one more compressor? Ok, put it in!
Changing the signal chain of the plugins should also be possible! I think IKMultimedia use this system for their TRacks Mastering plugin.
I use cubase 6, one big problem is the limitation of plugin slots. Only 2 Pre-Fader and 6 Post-Fader, but sometimes you need more.
Think about it.
Thanks and greetings

It's already invented, called DAW.Svama wrote:Something like a construction kit. You need one more compressor? Ok, put it in!

But seriously speaking I presume you can route the signal in Cubase anyway you like so it should not be a problem (to have more plugin slots for example).

Exactly! It's like creating plugin chains within plugin chains. The only advantage to me is the presets really.

Sorry, but i don't agree.
Changing the plugin chains in Cubase 6 is not that smooth and fast, especially if your slots are all full in one channel. In this case the master channel.
My opinion about this new plugin was an extra plugin beside the single versions.
My pro for this plugin:
1. I have to work with only one plugin window and not 5 or more for example. This needs less more space on the screen and is more clear laid out.
2. Less more clicking, because I work inside of one plugin.
3. Changing the signal chain, fast and easy
4. Only one preset and not 5 or more for every single plugin. I love tweaking and working with my own Presets!
6. Much faster and easier
and so on....
Please think about it.
Greetings

I'm afraid I agree only on the presets. The less is not true. You can place all of the plugins on your screen (assuming it is large enough), so you can even see all of them and don't need to switch between then in a limited one-window GUI. Dunno...

Greetings and a happy new year Vojtech man, Hope you have a good 2012
I can understand where the OP is coming from, Although i have not purchased any of your commercial plug-ins i have and do use the ones which are on the Computer Music Mag DVD, I like them FWIW and not short on options per-plug-in and the TotalBundle looks great which i must at some point this year demo as i will be upgrading my audio machine which means after that i should be able to pickup some new bits to run on it
.So with that said/in mind and not a MedlaPower user by any stretch, I am thinking something along the lines of a 'utility' catagory plug-in like a shell type of thing with Native Instruments Guitar Rig-type routing/drag and drop/open to most concievable ways of ordering your plug-ins if you can see it from that viewpoint...Obviously it would be only for Melda plug-ins and allow for a total modular routing/processing abit like DDMF's Metaplugin allows for or xultop's chainer or EnergyXT enables one to. Catering for only your own plug-ins does put it into an even more specialist/niche area but it could be a winning one
From the point of view of a user with a host which is limited in regards to the number of insert/send slots i can see it being a great solution so long as they obviously only intend/expect to be able to use Melda/M-Series plug-ins inside it.
However i personally would not need such a utility as i have got by so far without, Can be done with certain plug-ins already so i do not know how much of a demand there would be for such...and as a business man (which i am not!) would not have a clue on whether or not it is worth testing the idea/concept with either a poll to users or knock up a quick build of the implementation for feedback...but that is just my personal viewpoint. Hope that makes sense as i have no clue as to how "quick" such a tool could be coded/implemted with all your processors and effects...etc. at all Vojtech!?!
All the best and looking forwards to this year dude

Steinberg should update Cubase to be more professional, like Sonar has screensets, FX-chain presets, unlimited number of plugin slots and so on. I don't see this as Melda's problem, but I agree Ozone-type all-in-one plugin could be interesting to someone.

Hehe folks, actually the modular thingy is already done, just need to finish it and there will be some "testing/preset" action soon... Need to solve some things before
