When I use my Novation Impulse to change patch, The MSB/LSB numbers seem to do NOTHING, I can set them anyhow, and it makes no difference to what sound I get. The only thing that makes a difference is the program change numbers I set.. which are one number out of sync... I send a change to go to Program 2.... it changes to Program 1. The type of message I sent was Midi RPN. Program one has no result, and program 3 is program 2!!
This is insane, but I can live with it, since I at least know how it behaves and how to switch preset... even if it disagrees with logic and the manual.
I would like to be able to select with one button a few favourite presets using my Iphone though. For this I guess I need a midi interface. But firstly I need to know its possible and if so how?
I downloaded "MidiTouchOsc" to have a look, http://iosmidi.com/apps/midi-touch/. Do apps such as this (I'd be going to a midi merge that I already have) work for sending program changes to the Receptor?
If so , what info do I send? Is it as simple as disable bank select, and just set a program change and the number I want?
Really it'd be great if someone can tell me that this is possible with some kind of Ios app, so that I don't have to spend £50 an Irig midi or similar device to experiment!
