I had a Crumar Performer years ago. Awesome strings machine...

I have a Crumar Performer, it's a cool machine. It is good for evil drones, not just eighties pop stuff, and like all analog string machines there is more to it than meets the eye. String machines can also do very beautiful "fairy bells" kinds of sounds, and the spectra are exceedingly rich, almost buzzing, so they are good through external filters and effects.

The demos of the Kontakt samples are impressive, in a mix I highly doubt if I could tell the difference between them and typical Performer sounds. What I'd miss is the fact that a string machine is actually a kooky kind of analog synthesizer, and you can coax neat things out of them.

Is that one sample based? I think its the same one I found 8 ago, but lost somehow.

Not a strict emulation, but Cromina gets my points when it comes to strings (LE Loganish sound...).

I am not an expert, but I am quite sure, it is sample based
