Yes indeed, that's an interesting point. I thought about that the other day. Frequently updating software is a powerful marketing tool actually, when you think about it. It keeps you "in the news", "on the radar" and brings positive vibes to customers because they see more interactions with the developer (or they assume there are because of the updates), they see the developer is "active", still cares about the product and the users, etc.Peter from LinPlug wrote:The bad thing is that its not good for sales... as you dont get as much press coverage when you not frequently update your software.
Of course it's all marketing cliché, but I think it actually works quite well.
