Right, I've come to that personal conclusion as to why I don't like Zebra from demoing it as well as listening to third party audio demos though.Meffy wrote:I think that about some synths, then I hear what better sound designers (than me) can do with them and realize it's mostly me. :-} Not saying that's the case with anyone but myself -- I'm okay at a lot of things, not great at any one -- just saying.

*nod* Everyone's ears are different. I wish I could afford Zebra but will have to wait until bills are paid off to even dream of it. :-}

for me, Diva without a question.. Latest work of this developer n the work is 100% solid,I never got into the sound of Zebra,but many here love it, in fact I would say Zebra is probably one of the most loved plugins ever..
To my ears Diva is the best work done in years by any developer.. cheers for making this one,and special props for the sound designers who offered their talents, it shows.

Is dubstep the new tarnce? I saw several people excusing themselves for making dupstep wobbles...Nice2b wrote:...wobbling dubstep basslines (excuse me for that),
Yeah, if there wouldn't be Diva and Ace I could see myself doing just that.Nice2b wrote:Although I still lust for DIVAs sexy knobs, she will have to wait until I'm done with the Zebra - if that will ever happen. Matter of fact, I decided that all 2012 I will use Zebra as my only synth for every single track I make.

Zebra is flat in my opinion too, doesn't excite me at all. I started buying U-he synths after Ace, just couldn't resist that one and it took me totally by surprise since I didn't like Urs previous efforts at all. Diva is even better and I snatched it immediately.
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

My sign of the zodiac is Equuleus*, not Libra, but I'd still love to have 'em both. Soon as I meet Urs' requirements for a promo copy... let's see, how many #1 hits do I need?trimph1 wrote:How is this for a typical Libra approach?

Flat? Hmm... IMO it's a typical more clean VA. Other synth will have more a own character and sometimes having also a more rough sound (like Sylenth) but this is Ok. In my opinion people like more the semi-modular concept which helps to create sounds others cannot create.
Zebra is more a "typical" synth for daily usage because there are also a lot of good presets and it needs not much resources. There is all important stuff like Legato and Unison to make a lot of sounds people would expect from hardware synth like the Virus.
Diva is easier to use and has a more unique sound but IMO it's more for the next generation computers. Many people will not have much fun because Diva can eat the CPU with only some voices
This makes no fun while arranging and composing stuff if always the next step it's a freeze to audio.
I own Diva but I'm not very interested in Zebra. For me Diva it's more interesting because of the concept and the sound. I expect in the near future also some CPU improvements, threading support and eventually other optimization. So for me it's not the wrong investment also when I cannot use Diva like my other synth and I would not recommended it for the "typical" synth everybody needs to make music. For such stuff Zebra is IMO better.

took me years to like Zebra. I think I downloaded it about four or five times... couldn't see what the big deal was..... tried hard to like it, so would download again. then still nothing.......then one day I think I downloaded it and one of Michael Kastrup's sample banks and that's when it clicked for me... and has since. it is now one of my favourite synths..It plays well with other synths in the track..and I finally 'got what made it special'and can't imagine what took me so longdjanthonyw wrote:...
