is anyone having problems with the wrong notes being triggered when using DivisiLive... i experience a pitch shift of possibly a quarter tone down when playing 2 notes together.

Just to be clear...the notes are correct until played simultaneously.. note "E3" being the offender. I'm not incredibly clued up about kontakt so i wouldnt know how to pinpoint the error. Sorry

i was using 1st Cellos 12,6,3,1 Players All Articulations
To create this error try this...
i.e keep pressing 'keys Notes F2 and E3' together until you hear the pitch change with 'E3' ..let go of the F2 to isolate the sound of "E3" and hear the pitch more clearly..., then let go of 'E3' and just play 'E3' on its own ....it will then return to the correct pitch.
Lord have mercy... very confusing.

Ps could it be that im playing it via my laptop keys???

I also want to say, i love the concert strings 2!!!! amazing..can't wait to write something myself to showcase these fellas!! Thanks Kirk! :D

I was going to post my file sizes, but I've also tweaked my extraction quite a bit (most notably, through removing all of the Mac-specific files like the __MACOSX folder and any files starting with a single period). Also, I'm not 100% sure how the sizes are reported depending on Windows hide/show files preferences (by default, when hiding files, all the Mac files that start with a period are usually hidden on Windows) and depending on operating system. Add to *that* that my download links are from the combo CS2/CB2 download and it's just not worth reporting specific sizes.

I have another suggestion though... MD5 hashes. That should be a reliable enough estimate of whether or not your download is okay. Not sure how to get the MD5 hash of a file? This is what I use... it adds a file hash tab to every file's Right-click > Properties dialog in Windows...
http://implbits.com/HashTab/HashTabWindows.aspx

As near as I could tell from the CS2/CB2 combo, I *think* these are the files that are CS2-only, along with their MD5 hash. I downloaded these on the 4th of January... I'm not sure if all of the updates were included in these files already or not...

So far, I can't duplicate your pitch issue. :-\ I am using a physical midi piano keyboard, but I don't *think* that would matter... computer keyboards are definitely wired very differently though.

I will check these..thanks, my rar files are on another hard drive in another town!! I understand where your coming from, thanks for your effort! :)

interesting..my ears are fine..i knew this would happen!
keep pressing the 2 keys together and let go at intervals of 1 sec...until you hear something odd...

hmm i'll try a decent midi keyboard...see if it helps

Any word on bug and sample fixes yet?

Post

Sorry for double posting, but there are some bona fide round robin issues that are breaking the instruments. Repeated playing of notes sometimes returns no sound. This is specifically with the solo cello, but I advise double checking every TVEC 3.1 instrument, for I've found this issue in other cases as well; namely the viola and double bass. The violin seems to be the only string instrument that is not afflicted with this problem. Please fix it as soon as possible! Thank you :D.

EDIT: It seems to occur on certain notes, but please double check. I can't use the instrument until this is fixed. I'm sure it'll be quick...

tophatwilliam wrote:The list of articulations for concert brass II, posted on kirk hunter's site, seems different then what is running in kontakt for me.....
here is a list of missing articulations that I was curious if others had them or if i am misreading what should be installed

trombone
solo --- flutter, shortFX(fall,scoop)

french horn
solo ----- flutter, shortFX(fall,scoop)
2 player ----- flutter
4 player ------- flutter
french horn mute
2,4,8 player ------ flutter, shortFX(fall,scoop)

trumpet
solo --------- shortFX(fall,scoop)
trumpet mute
2,4,8 player --------- shortFX(fall,scoop)

i was thinking since they were not "greyed out" as other unavailable articulations are, that i may have something else going on.......i tried reinstalling....

thank you for any thoughts on the above....
Christopher
Have you emailed Kirk about this?

I wouldn't be so upset about my problem if it were acknowledged. Just now I was playing with the Diamond violin, and some of the highest notes don't have any glissando down samples, and yet AGAIN, sometimes, notes aren't played at all. This seems to be exclusive to ALL solo strings. I could be wrong though.

Furthermore, why is it that each division can play different notes? The 4 player division can play to the highest note possible on a keyboard, while the ranges of all of the other divisions are limited in comparison. It doesn't make sense to me. Should I be able to play the same notes across all divisions?

From my understanding, all of the products seem to have some variation of the problem: Missing samples and articulations, plus occasional nonexistent sound. Forget my past keyswitch and user interface woes, but PLEASE resolve these HUGE issues.

Thank you.

Well, I hope that Kirk is busy fixing the issues that have been reported in this thread. And that he can take some time out to give us a progress report.

Indeed, please understand that I'm not being libelous; I really want the product I bought to be in perfect shape. Looking forward to some developments...

Hi,

Ok, I'm BAAACK. I've been swamped with getting rebates out, holiday stuff, and general end of year things, not to mention the upcoming NAMM show.

So...for my convenience, can you restate the issue you're having with RR?

In Diamond, the instruments were all recorded at different times and such. So the implementation of TVEC 3 obviously and simply put the instruments' range as played at the time. I guess I could snip out the largest ranges to make things consistent. Would you find that better?

Re Diamond:

Just rename the two Solo Strings folders to add the __ prefix. I think that this was documented somewhere (in the midst of the GB thread). My guess is that these folders were created / changed to produce the Solo Strings product, hence the additional documentation.

Re CB II:

-- extract them into their own folder, not into Diamond,
-- I imagine the TVEC III patches are included in the other .zips (in Diamond, they were an add-on, so in a separate .zip file),
-- I would extract those 4 .zip files into your main CB II folder, along with the other Samples files.
Thanks Dark,

You're absolutely correct about the renaming. Some extraction apps take out underscores.
