Pleeease let there be a decent copy protection scheme. One of the things I hated about Live was being careful about how many activations I used. I know it's a simple matter of writing support and asking for more, but I always felt "dirty" asking for more activations with an explanation.

From what I've seen, which isn't much, but more than enough to make a snap judgement, it's the BEST DAW ever created! In Photoshop.

But, is it the best DAW created with pizza? I'll have to chew on that awhile.

And stop posting pizza pics, hibiddy, unless you offer free worldwide delivery.

It looks like a Live 1-1 copy... I hope they won't mess it up by adding 6gbs of unnecessary loops and patches :/

or get into partnerships with multiple developers to the point to where they can't guarantee stability based on their own code.

I hope that they will focus on stability and not all these side projects. I love what live is trying to do, but when your spread to thin things fall apart as we saw with live 8.

I'd rather have a program that is simply, rock solid, and stable with komplete for performance stuff. I don't want a bunch of daw features cause there are great programs out there that blow Live out of the water.

I'm hoping they start beta after NAMM

+1, that is exactly that.

Live is an outstanding program, and i love it to bits, but the price increase of Live8, and the lack of amazing features in that version (+ the 3d party bloatness, the M4L pricetag, the unstability and the long wait...) made me stick to v7.
I am happy with it, and still can wait (i have been waiting 3 years already). But if they keep on making loyal users pay hundreds of bucks for average updates, and if BitWig is in the same price league as a Live update (around 99-199$) with similar features, i may consider it as a valuabale "update".

I wonder why BW is claimed to be targeted to "DJs" too, as i haven't seen any DJ features, and i also wonder what are the Midi plugins (if there are any), and if there is any hardware integration (like Reainsert in Reaper, or the "external instrument device" in Live).
So, BitWig keeps me curious and interested.

Okay, here's a question: how has ableton treated you? I don't believe in DAW loyalty, but I do believe in trends. Have the Abe's been good to their user base or not?

Sprint = Boostmobile , sprint was struggling in the long distance phone service and mobile phone service , boostmobile starts a $50 a month unlimited/no contract cell phone . Later we find out boostmobile really is sprint . Im wondering if Bitwig is really ableton, but a with new product ????

This is where i got eager, i guess, a couple of years ago and ended up staying with v7. I remember, when Live8 was released, that it could be cheaper to buy a new one with some kind of "intro offer" than to upgrade.
Not in every situation, of course, but the update price had been increased, while the "newbie" price got decreased.
Considering the price of Reaper, for example, i thought that paying three times the full Reaper price for a "simple" version update was a bit too steep for my wallet.

The ongoing 25% discount apart, most of the offers are not for the core DAW, but stuff like "buy my 3d party stuff for cheap, but pay the update price at the normal rate"...
To me, it was simple, really : i wanted the dev team to focus on the host, not 3d party stuff, and the discount to be a real discount (not discounting after increasing upgrade price), and for the host too, not for 3d party stuff.
To me, that is simple : Live9 upgrade price has better to be dead cheap, either I'll stick to v7 forever or switch to BitWig or something else (Anyway, i will keep on enjoying v7 to bits !

On the other hand, to be fair, for people interested, there are quite often discounts (for their Operator, Sampler, M4L, sampmle packs, etc), and from time to time they release free packs and presets.
The support is also good.
