Any plans for an analogue modeled eq plugin?

Hi,
i'm a fully satisfied user of your fantastic cl serie plugins.
Among the best vst compressors out there and almost used in every mastering
session.Have you any plan to release in the next months an analog modeled
eq plugin? Considering the audio quality of your products i would call it
a new and really interesting option.

Hi, nice to hear that you like the CL Series! To answer your question, we have thought about it for a long time, but have not yet come to a decision, as there are already some extremyly nice analog sounding EQ plugins out there. But again, we have not abandoned this theme, so maybe we'll do it, if it really triggers us and we find the time. However, there's other things that are to be done before we consider a dedicated analog EQ plugin.

I'd like to chime in here and say that the CL series really has got me interested in this type of quality. I'm also in the market for an EQ. I have Filterscape and Uhbik Q. But will eventually want a more mastering quality tool. I've been demoing the Passeq by SPL which seems great, but lacks meters and an easy to use preset management system as on the CL series.

So I'm interested in an EQ to match the Arts Acoustic compressor.

The Compressor is just aching for a mate..


It's the interest based on building up a consistant user interface, and sound quality level.

Somehow they've got interface design nailed in a way, so these other programs mentioned have not this same polish.

But the stomp box surely there's 2 million of those.

Yeah, but none with the attention to detail of Bigrock which nails the hardware. Mokafix put out a nice selection of discontinued Distortion stomps, but there is room for other types. If they can nail a colored hardware Equalizer as well as they did Big Rock, then yes, but it has to be the right Eq. I would vote for a spot on API 5xx ITB, but think Universal Audio might already be working on those.

Okay then I must check on these stomp boxes. I'm not going for the Universal Audio, as I'd like to stay clear of hardware solutions, in hope that the computer gets powerful enough on it's own. Soon!

doing another eq is a trip to no profit, i said it first, i just wanted to state my opinion. complete waste of time.

I'd say that in this business never is quite a short time.

I'm not super itchy to jump on any of the eq's I've looked at. The passeq, almost does it. I've got filterscape tried some of the early Waves plugs..

What I'm trying to say is I've got some searching to do before I find my ideal setup, and perhaps most components in software today are just a small sample of what can become available in the next few years, as things advance. New EQ's will come and those that we think are hot and can't be bettered today will seem like tiny toys for boys..

I would love AA to make an EQ! I would probably buy it without even demo'ing.. I am so confident in AA's 'sound values', I have all three releases so far.

I would love this (my fantasy AA EQ) to equal the Algorithmix Blue in MP mode, PLPAREQ in LP mode, and a great solid state eq in vintage mode.

I would like each band to be selectable LR, L, R, MS, M, S, with monitoring options to suit. I would like lots of options for everything.

Not much to ask is it ?

I agree with ttoz on the EQ. That is not even half the list and I doubt that a new EQ would far surpass something of the calibre of an offering from DMG Audio. The EQ world is a competitive one. Of course, I would try one from AA, but unless it was fantastic and also low priced (I doubt the 2 would go together), then there'd be little benefit in buying it over something of the quality of EQuick or EQuality, or even a clean EQ from DDMF. If an EQ was to be done it would have to include a level of control, ease of use and superior colouring that outstrips the competition. It may also need to include some frills like different gear models, auto volume levelling, EQ matching, Intelligent Auto EQ or any number of others. I doubt any of that would come cheap.
