I love hardware and some of my favourites have been the Korg ER1/EA1/EMX1 electribes. I even thought about designing one using synth maker, but after looking at that I didn't know where to start! I may still give that a go when SM can sequence more than one part.

Anyway, I noticed in Mu-Lab v4 that MuDrum can 'host' VST's. So I wondered if you'd consider this request as I don't think anything like it currently exists. It would be a unique selling point if its not yet been done.

Basically, if you haven't guessed, I'd like to see a groove box sequencer but where you'd normally have Parts, there'd be VST'S slots. And where you'd normally have FX again there'd be VST slots. All this controllable from a MIDI controller keyboard.

Hope that's clear enough?

What do you think?

hmmmm. sounds a lot like mulab...?

eh? Does Mu-Lab have a sequencer like an electribe? I just thought it'd be easier if you could have a visible sequencer where you could click notes on/off. Perhaps Mu-Lab has something similar already I've not played with it enough to know what its capable of. But there must be room for groovebox VSTs as there's quite a few around. Just something I'd like to see in a future version ;-)

theres a request in for an arpeggiator. but other than that, a piano roll pretty much does the job of 'groove interface.' i personally would like to see a pattern based device that you could trigger patterns with midi notes.

That's the sort of thing I'd like but I can't afford that for one. And I would prefer something a bit simpler. If piano roll was good enough then why are all these groovebox vsts available? If Jo added a 'MuGroove' device it wouldn't be restricted to the built in sounds or rely on samples or patches. You could simply add a vst synth for the sound source and add ANY vst for FX. Again your not restricted to the built in FX.

if its not a popular idea then fair enough. But I don't see how piano roll can replace a groovebox sequencer? Perhaps I lack the knowledge regarding piano roll editors! I think it would be a good addition to Mu-Lab especially for newcomers to computer music making like me ;-) Shame!

When a track goes to a MuDrum, can the piano-roll be adapted to show only 12 rows, with the name of the pads ?

Is there something planned so that we can load and save piano-roll maps with names instead of notes at the left ? and the ability to hide rows that we don't need ?

Muzys had a very nice feature where you had 128 triggerable sequences that could target anything... One day I'm sure MULAB will get something similar.

That was a good feature in Muzys. I'd love see a MuGroove with this feature too. Here's hoping...

Sorry for my silence. For good reasons, explained here:
