Well I'm so inspired with the sound of Diva and as a fan of synthy tracks from back when people heard the first few Moog synth based songs and wondered what the hell they were hearing. I had an idea for a fun project. Time-permitting I'm going to work on an EP of old cheesy synth tracks ( I say cheesy in a good way, I love old synth songs) using only Diva to replicate all the parts.
Tracks will be along the lines of Popcorn, Rydeen, Space-Magic Fly, Jan Hammer stuff. So basically instrumental(vocoders allowed in fact encouraged!) and preferably pop style stuff to keep it cheery and fun, also preferably older stuff 60s up to maybe 80s.
I'd be grateful for any other suggestions of tracks to try or for even more fun why don't we do this as a community (otherwise it's probably going to take me years). If anyone else fancies giving it a go with me that'd be great!
I'd prefer to keep it within Soundcloud to make collecting the tracks together a bit easier so if you don't have a soundcloud account just sign up, it's free.
I'll start working on what I have but let me know of any track ideas you have or soundcloud links to tracks if you've had a crack yourself. Remember, all Diva - cheating makes it less fun and makes you a bad person
If you absolutely needed to then drums from another source would probably be ok I guess but at least try with Diva first, external FX acceptable too.If the tracks end up sounding good I thought we could possibly release the EP( or even album(?)) for a charity of our collective choice.
