I can't lie, I'm getting frustrated, Diva continues to not work

I bought it when it came out. I have a session where it used to work, now every time i load the session no matter what sound i load into Diva it spews out tons of bass and totally clips my outputs. I love the sound of this synth but have had so many problems with it. Why is it so buggy? I do music professionally and I need to be able to rely on my software. How do I fix this problem?

Was the session from before the 1.0 release? I don't have a fine-grained understanding of it but I think I've bumped up against some problems with patches or projects that, it's like they reintroduce some bugs into Diva that were otherwise squelched. When I get a chance I'll see if I can recreate that kind of thing.
I honestly would recommend trying to just manually copy the patch you want into a new Diva knob-per-knob ... it might work and wouldn't take very long, really.
I would guess this might be interesting to u-he, to hear if it does work.

Did you check Diva.data/Support/com.u-he.Diva.midimap.txt ? Maybe you have an accidental MIDI Learn on the feedback parameter...
Also, check if you have multiple Diva.data folders on your hard drive...

I'm really swinging in the dark at things I've bumped up against, but could you post the patch perhaps?ddeez wrote:yes the only way i can get it to work is to open a new diva and load the same patch. But everytime i close the session and load it again it has the same problem.
I just checked out a patch of mine I know leads to problems with polyphony every once in a while (almost sure it's reproduceable under a pretty bizarre condition - first instance of Diva in an otherwise Diva-free template set for Live). I just transcribed that to a new patch and then ran a comparison - the differences that aren't just non-essential knobs in the UI (trimmers, some FX knobs, etc) are:
(new)
PSong=1
rev=517
acc=2
(old)
PSong=0
rev=478
acc=1
+1 extra line of compressed data
The old patch will cause problems, the new won't. I really can't say why but it feels like something in the actual patch file sort of taints it, and my spidey-sense says could be a really funky bug that sort of survived being stomped on (since it's in some sense fixed), but needs another thwack.
Like I said though, swinging in the dark.
[e] Always awkward to simul-post after Urs on something like this
[e2] (After reading a little more closely, MK Brass Straight Up is rev=467, and a quick glance suggests the structure of the patch file is a little different.)
