Urs gives ZebraCM away in every issue of Computer Music magazine.

Included on the disc is Zen Garden by I belive Plughugger, excellent bank.

Plus you can get free sounds eles where, there are two fantastic Trances ones out there.

The bass on the CM version outstanding.

When I run Tone2 Warmverb through it, I have Happy Monster of a VST.

Thanks, Urs

Yes, the CM Version is the only reason not to buy Zebra2 for me. In Ableton Live I've made some instrument racks based on 2 ore more instances of Zebra CM and Zebralette and I can't hear the 200€ difference to a full version Zebra2. Ok there is a difference, maybe in handling. But together with TyrellN6 I have the most I need for my poor creative output.

BTW I also like Geist CM very much - only one engine but endless fun ;) fxpansion offer an update to a full Geist for 89€ ;)

If the price of Zebra2 is around 100€, I will eventually buy a licence.

According to plughugger, the sounds are on the disc from CM151 http://www.plughugger.com/free-sounds.html

ZebraCM should also be included on every DVD by CM and has been now for a few years.

Hmmm... maybe it just comes with the non-Special editions? Ironically, I couldn't find it in the only issue of CM I own -- Computer Music Special 44: 99 Free Plug-Ins. :(

So... I've got ninety-nine free plug-ins but ZebraCM ain't one.

Sorry, couldn't resist. :P

Yes, The CM special releases are different. If you purchase a regular CM issue both ZebraCM and that soundset should be on there.

does this include others too like a 2012 cm dvd will have wusikstation cm and geist cm etc?

@ScottZ, I don't know for certain. In the past Computer Music has been very consistent on the format of their DVDs for their regular monthly releases. ZebraCM is considered part of the CM Studio and you'll find it in that folder section. I don't have the PlugHugger soundbank so I am not certain where that would be placed, I'm just taking the word of their website that it's on all regular DVDs from CM151 onward.

I've purchased 1 or 2 special CM versions in the past. The discs that come with those seem to be completely different and don't have the CM Studio.

If you want to be 100% certain to get ZebraCM then make sure you purchase a regular monthly release (e.g CM Feb 2012) and not a special issue.

ok thanks what I meant to say though are all other vst's besides zebra cm and the special issues included on every dvd once released(ex wusikstation etc),or is zebra the only one they release on every dvd meaning I would have to get the original issues if I wanted wusik, polykb II etc?

There are regular ones in every issue like the ones you mentioned, but occasionally they do leave some out, as I found out. (no yellowtools independence free on my last issue bought) due to space restrictions they state.
I'm sure those smaller sized synths will be in every issue though.
It's the ones with big sampled libraries they sometimes leave out to save space.
So get it already. It's worth it just for ZebraCM, if you don't have Zebra2 that is.

Is there at least a page somewhere in each issue that lists all the software contained in that particular month's DVD? I'd hate to purchase a copy only to find out something like ZebraCM isn't included once I get home and "break the seal" on the DVD.

Yes there is a list page inside every issue.
They are usually sealed at the book store though.
ZebraCM is in every (non-special) issue without fail, as it's a small size.
