On a serious note, one of the reasons the 'bargains only' thread is meant just for the deals is because some people subscribe to the thread and don't want to hear all the chat.
Well these people that subscribe to the thread could check it once a day and be done with it. I don't think there's any point in subscribing because the bargain thread gets updated daily anyway.

Then there's the rest of us who want to get additional info about a bargain so we can have a better view of the matter. Why should we check two different threads to get all the info?

Let's just merge the two threads the way it was in the past, I think it worked better.

This whole thing was recently discussed here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 16#4765416

tell that to gearslutz.

What I think would be great is a wiki thread of deals so everything on the top post is community editable....and stays current. If anybody knows of Cheap ass gamer, their forums are awesome for deals.

Much props to Harmony-Central's Deals Thread for surfacing some extreme deals over the years, but -- I go there very rarely now, because the chit-chat has become endless.

I understand putting info in the deals thread, when some info like with the Superior Drummer deal can strongly affect the outcome for a significant number of people, but that sort of thing is relatively unusual here.

Big +1000 from me for keeping our deals and discussions threads separate.

I have to agree with GreyLion. I subscribe to both threads, but it's nice to know that most of the time when something comes in on the 'main' thread it's meaningful information.

I have no problem with people posting follow-ups to deals with additional details and/or caveats, in fact I think it's entirely correct to do so. Keep the questions and more ordinary discussion about deals here in gossip.

Pleae mods can it be reenforced that bargains is only for the deals any additional comments and information should be hot linked by the original poster to chat gossip thread.

It doesnt take much if someone is interested in a deal to quickly scan or search the gossip thread.

The beauty and idea of the market place and bargains is be able to quickly scan them and I do have an RSS link to that thread. I know it's hard to control however, there is recently an increase in general gossip.

Rule are rules and execution can be initiated I hope against the perpetrators lol (of course I am kidding).

Personally I would be happy for mods to delete comments in the bargains thread without notice. The genuine helpful people can either post in the gossip thread or maybe pm original poster to update their post if possible.

Just a thought :@)

What would resolve this issue is to have sub threads in the bargains main thread. then people can discuss off of every parent thread (and collapse them?) without having to see all the chit chat nonsense. What do you say, Ben? Can you click your heels together 3x and whip that up? :hihi:

that or ban repeat offenders from the marketplace...

Perhaps "deals" should be a database item, just like news, products, reviews, etc. They could be submitted by members and listed with an expiration date. That would be a useful, sortable and searchable list of bargains, rather than a forum thread, which is more suited to conversation and linear interaction...

Just my $.02 - sorry for yet another off-topic post.

Agreed, I'm actually working on a site that does exactly that.

East West has 50% off for 4 days. Anyone know if Symphonic orchestra silver and Symphonic orchestra silver complete are the same or are there any differences?
Thx!

Post

I believe that "complete" has some articulations that the "not complete" doesn't have.

No, that's not true, at least not anymore. There's only one level of EWQLSO Silver and one level of EWQLSO Gold nowadays, and that's called "Complete". Some of the upgrade pages don't refer to it as "Complete", but it's all the same product.

The big difference between Silver and Gold is the number of articulations. Also, with Gold you have the option of buying the additional mic positions; Silver is limited to just the Front Stage mics. FWIW, I have Gold Complete and during the last 50% sale I bought Surround mics for it... mixing them in really does heighten the realism and give you more control. I'm pretty tempted to pick up the Close mics on this sale, or just go all in and upgrade to Platinum for $160....

(By the by, the difference between Platinum and Platinum Plus is that Platinum Plus includes the 16-bit samples as well as the 24-bit ones. Gold and Silver are 16-bit only. So Platinum Plus = Platinum + Gold + both extra Gold mic soundsets.)

Use the coupon code '10off' for another 10% off Smile.

Alternatively, use the code 'group' for 15% off
Is this coupon always valid or is only for a short time period?

What are these "skimwords" links that keep popping up in my posts? The links are never right, and make my post look bogus.
