It's easy to make a sine wave as previously stated, but I do believe it should be easier to create sine-like curves in the waveform editor. At the moment the spline editing is much appreciated, but I've only been able to create close approximations of sine waves.
There really should be a type of curve available such that two points create a perfect half sine... Sorta like this:
XXX000000000
000XX0000000
00000X000000
000000X00000
0000000XX000
000000000XXX
(where the bold X'es are the control points)
(I just know there's a fancy name for this curve, but it escapes me)
As it stands I think such a setup is possible, but quite fiddly to pull off, though I may be wrong.
How do I get a sine wave in Zebra?

Are you thinking of Bezier curves? Yeah, I think it stands to reason that interpolation between control points should be possible, although I'm rather the Zebra noob

Actually, I've just checked and you can make those curves quite easily by clicking and dragging with ctrl or alt. Thing is, in all the times I've tried to integrate a sine into a wavetable, I've had trouble constructing it such that (a) the wave starts at 0 amplitude and (b) there's a perfect diagonal transition between the start and end of the wave.
If you construct the wave starting on -1, and have one point in the middle at 1 and one at the end on -1, this is much easier, but this is harder to integrate with other waves which start on zero.
Ahh, who cares... I'm sure when the wave editor is tweaked and has snapping and more tools, it'll be even more awesome than it is
Has any other wavetable builder noticed this niggle besides me?

I have. I could never get a perfect sine with Geomorph, but that's ok. Since we have spectromorph and spectroblend (and FMOs) I stopped bothering. I rarely want to go to/from a pure sine into geomorph shapes, but I'm not as much of a wave tweaker as you are.Sendy wrote:Has any other wavetable builder noticed this niggle besides me?

I think I tried like 3 times, then switched to spectroblend sincebmrzycki wrote:I have. I could never get a perfect sine with Geomorph, but that's ok.
