I noticed that it would look for Poise.dll and then hang, so I thought it must be getting stuck either in the Poise data or whatever was next in the file.SWTrex wrote:So let me get this straight, piz - you edited the .ext file into a hex editor and removed the loading of a .dll?insertpizhere wrote:I sent a PM with a link to the repaired file. The problem was with Poise... I removed that and the file loaded fine. The hard (but fun) part was figuring out how to delete a VST from the .ext file.
I'm impressed. Want to give any hints on how you went about that?![]()
SWTrex
To figure out how to delete it from the file, I compared an empty project to one with a single VST in it. Basically there is one place that has the VST and all its settings, and another place that defines what is connected to its inputs.

I think there is a lesson to be learnt in this thread, XT 1.4 threads are still busier than XT2 threads even now.
I hope Jorgen looks in here soon and notices, XT really needs all the 1.4 modules back (I predict a massive reinflux of users participating in this forum again if it happens)

just for the info;
i loaded the rescued midi files into previous working version,saved as new file-same hanging problem.
i had poise's tracks frozen,so i unfroze all,then saved it as new and it loaded ok.
so i could have been a problem with the frozen tracks,not poise.
maybe.

can't you load the midi files and .fxps into a new song file?? (perhaps print poise to audio)

yes,though unfreezing does the trick.so it may have been getting stuck on trying to open the freezed files.xoxos wrote:can't you load the midi files and .fxps into a new song file?? (perhaps print poise to audio)
