Now, do we need to hack your computer to get them?

That might not be necessary, but I can't say more at this point of time.

Urs wrote: Zebra's most prominent part on Incpetion are percussion and drum sounds, apart from the actual synths. There are scenes where the count of Zebra instances goes well beyond 50, mostly for live triggered drums and effects.

I consider Zebra the very best percussion/drum synth you can buy today. It is so vast and I value that it is especially good for realistic percussion sounds (even though it is not a physical modeling synth a such)

Not sure why people here are surprised at this... Zebra is considered one of the better synths.

Now if, instead, the title had been "Hans Zimmer uses only Synth1 and Delay Lama for his soundtracks", that would have been a 20-page thread. :hihi:

Naw... he only used those once, on the Pearl Harbor soundtrack.

Not a big fan of Danny Elfman here. He's a great musician and composer, it's just that he doesn't seem to be evolving much. All his soundtracks basically go:

Paaa-Paaa-Paaa-Paaa PaPaPaPaPa-Paaraaraa PaPaPaPaPa-Paaraadeeu Pei-Pei-Pei-PeiPepepepepepep.......peperepepepeperepe duuuum duuum duuum duuum.

Buddabuddabuddabuddabuddabuddabudda Paaarapapapapapa Paaaa Paaaa Paaaan...

Know which one i'm talking about?

Ha,
I keep reading this thread title as
"Hans Zimmer just looooves Zebra!"
With a high pitched hands-in-the-air inflection and warble on the "loOoOoOoves!!"
Makes it tolerable. :hihi:

You mean like Oingo Boingo doing Hindemith covers (or vice versa)?

It's easy to take pot-shots at any musician (ever notice how much of Beethoven's music sounds like sauerkraut and pork sausage wearing a tuxedo?).
I try to limit such comments to musicians who make music I enjoy (like Elfman and Beethoven, for example).

Elfman met a doozy of a challenge with the remake of Planet of the Apes. The original film had a stellar soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith, a landmark in 20th Century music, really. Even as a composition prick I came away impressed, as were many others who follow such things. Thumbs up!

Both Elfman and Zimmer credit co-artists, have you guys noticed? That impresses me to no end.

Hey, don't be dissing Delay Lama. I love that plugin. I would use it more, but it drives my wife up a wall.
