Midi Learn with Novation SL MK2

Can't find a solution to this. I have a Novation 61SL Mk2 which I use with my Receptor. I want to map a few knobs and sliders to parameters in Massive for example but when I right click on 'midi learn' and start turning the knob I want to use (tried all of them) nothing happens. Strangely though it does only work when I start moving the pitch bender. So for some reason it seems the Receptor isn't receiving or doesn't recognise any of the knobs on the Novation keyboard. I am changing Multi patches fine using the program change function on the keyboard by selecting bank numbers etc but just can't get the knobs and sliders working. I do have the box ticked to send midi info directly to the plugins.
I can get them working however to the Receptor through Ableton. When I select the midi function in Ableton and then use midi learn with the Novation connected to a midiman through my PC it works!!! But doesn't work when I connect directly to the Receptor for live use. Any advise or experience with this problem would be much appreciated. My Receptor is a Receptor 2 Pro.

You may want to double check the MIDI channel that your Novation is sending CCs on. If I recall the Novations have the ability to send various CCs on different MIDI channels.
To check this hit the setup button on the front panel then turn the front panel display to the right one click. The MIDI monitor will display a row of dots. You'll see a number or leter that corresponds to the MIDI channel it's receiving on when you turn a knob or fader.

Thanks for that sounds like an easier fix - The novation knobs are communicating on midi channel 1 so I'll look to change the global settings for this or change the sounds im controlling for it on the receptor to channel 1

Make sure you have the button "Route MIDI CCs to source plugin" checked. This is on the setup page under the MIDI Menu. If that is un-checked the Receptor OS holds on to them.

Thanks Kevin just to update I discovered that the knobs on my Novation ketboard are set to send on midi channel 1 dispite what midi channel you set the keyboard to. I found out how to change the global midi channel for controls so this now works when I set it to the same midi channel I am controlling on the Receptor. Midi learn now works and yes that is with "route MIDI CCs to source plugin" selected.
Thanks
Paul
