Okay I'm really getting into playing Diva like Jan Hammer well actually much better, I just am wanting to get more a more control.

I have a couple of Expression Pedals, and a Blofeld keyboard with a great pitch wheel and mod wheel plus aftertouch. No realtime midi controllers though.

I use my Novation Nocturn and have been wrestling with getting som extra functionallity.

I want to be able to in performance change among other things the pitch bend range. With plain vanilla automap I get either on or off functionallity . Not good. But after routing the Audomap "midi" input into "Numerology Pro 3" as a midi input I've setup a slick controller number to absolute value conversion so now I have my eight nocturn buttons switching the pitch bend range. I chose the following values: 2 up dwn 5 up down, octave up down and 2 octaves up dwn. Now I can mix and match these values on the fly. I am very happy. This combined with midi learning the glide range and amout knobs and I have 6 different modes to move from pitch to pitch:

1 Stepwise and skip direct detached

2 Stepwise skip legato mode

3 Pitch bend in the 4 different values I've setup for my pitch bend value. Wheel and buttons

4 Variable glide range and time modes combined with the legato mode. two knobs

5 Aftertouch bend of a whole tone step programmed in the patch. Aftertouch

6 Modwheel with destination Lfo pitch and amplitude and filter modulation. Mod wheel preprogrammed perhaps with an extra knob routed to mod amount.

I use the pedals for controlling output volume and filter cutoff.

The Diva will be pretty lively with all these realtime tools massaging her!!

After a couple weeks practice I'll be signing up for big the Lead synth challenge on some obscure TV show in Japan!

waves break, but somehow it all makes sense.

I'm just going to add this about using ACE with Novation's Automap.

I think for reaching the statci parameters like:

Note Priority

Pitch Bend Range

It's necessary to NOT use an Automap wrapped instance of Diva.

You have to use Automap in Automap Midi mode. Mixer instead of instrument or effects.

Then in your host you will have to setup your controller scaling for these destinations.

It was relatively easy to setup in Numerology Pro 3

Now I can change pitch bend range, note priority, and Glide, and Glide Range Env 1+2 Attack times. for my little Novation Nocturn. I use the Crossfader for Output.

I have two pedals for controlling Filter cutoff and a Distortion effects mix amount.

I have aftertouch routed to Lfo 2 mod amount.

I have the Modwheel routed to Lfo 2 speed.

Lfo 2 controls volune and pitch on VCO 1

I'm jammin away with my super controlled mono monster and I'm happy.

I think all this talk about mega multiple instances on computers is in a way counter productive. One instance of Diva well played on a lesser system can also give a user a lot of gratification.

Automap wrapped needs to be broken for access to all parameters. Midi learn. combined with Host specific workarounds and scaling give the most comprhensive control.

Once it's setup you have very little effort to things up.
