Hi

Just playing around with 2 patches in Poly Bank:

TUC Goldkeys
TUC Hurlitzer Phased

Running both in 'Great'

They seem to have very similar architecture, but Goldkeys crackles for me with just 4 notes, Hurlitzer I can run 6 notes no problem!

The main difference I can see is the HPS, Phased is PRE, Hurl is BITE. If I change Hurl to PRE it works...

Is this a bug with the BITE HPF or is iot just that using this particular filter uses a lot more CPU and my PC can't cope?

I think 'Diva' is to music software what 'Crysis' was to games software- software that computers needed to grow in to! :D

It's cpu is not enough.
That filter uses the most cpu.
Cheers.

Thanks

It seems to be a significantly big hit, I'm on a fairly powerful PC. I wonder if the code can be optimised, this seems to be the only part of Diva giving me problems!

For now I am having to swap ity out on patches that use it, to be honest, I can't hear a great deal of difference using the other HPF's on most patches...

I wonder if all patch designers know this particular filter adds so much CPU drain? (or am I the only person who didn't! )

Are you saying there is silence when playing these patches with HP BITE? I believe there was a bug fix just a few weeks ago that attempted to address that.. hmm.

No, not silence. Sudden CPU spikes causing crackles/pops. Just seemed strange that it was only this filter causing such a high load.

Please hurry with multicore support and let it be able to to split one patch over multiple cores!

The filters use more CPU the higher the resonance/emphasis and the more feedback is sent through them. Try lowering the accuracy one level to see if the sound changes appreciably.

As for multi-core I don't know where that currently stands. Urs tried to add it in early January but said he ran into problems.
