Of cause, I didn't test Cubase 6... But, I am sure they choose wrong way many yesrs ago already..... Crystal sound? hu!! It's Very digital sound..

Cubase is Best? Albino or Predator is Best? Zebra is Best? Kontakt is Best?
All those are just worst wastes!!!!

Ahh yes, I forgot about the academic thing. Thought I would chime in here:
I think the most powerful stuff to come out of this topic is this:
A database dedicated to FREE stuff.
And not just every freeware ever, freeware with a following, with good dev's and with great sound.
You can find plenty of freeware today, with google. The problem is there is a lot of crud to wade through, and if someone has to wade through mediocrity while they hear about how great so and so cracked is, they might change their mind.
I think if there was a blog of sorts with different setups for different scenarios it would be great, with possible collections like:
DAW A
vst 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
vsti 1, 2, 3, 4
extras (sample managers, soundware, etc)
Then I think add competitions and giveaways to the site, and special offers on cheap products (DAW lite versions, reaper, etc)
I think it could become a great resource for beginners, as well as a great marketing platform for software companies.

Three years old fun stuff and don't worry yours are not the only ones mine at 16 and 17 have a lot of Dad also, not a bad thing, their needs to be some cynical people in the world. Don't blink for a minute they grow too fast.

For this thread I love the idea but the question remains who needs the help really? I give much support to the idea but how can you help those in need without helping also the f**k heads who play the system?

How can you know some one need Samplitude, Sonar, Protools, or Usine or Podium or Soundforge or ACID or.... I don't know about these sound.. do you know all?
Just I can say Steinberg fixed their sound every years from more then 10 years ago. And There is no Best Vsti, and so There is no Best Host.. It is just one sound for someone's music
Help is not easy cause don't know what he want.
