I thought that's what I was doing! :D
I feel better now knowing this is a common ailment. :)

@Gonga: HA - I've been to your SC page and because of the pic thought you were actually a really talented KID. You're still talented obviously, but that's funny. I've got some similar pics lying around that I'm afraid to bust out (my keys are all happily attached to something other than me, however).

 Sorry 'bout that. Well, if you knew me you might still think I was a kid Joe!

Yeah, I am planning to update the pic, but it just is the best one I have for expressing how I feel about playing, and I did mod that board myself. I also have to say that when I changed it to that pic I started to get a lot more attention and soon was Soundclouder of the Day and had over 3500 followers. I'm afraid what George Duke ranted about a few years ago is true, people prefer younger musicians.

I'm thinking about doing a black paint job on her and updating the avatar with the older human model.

I like to use Zebra for hybrid sounds.
A few examples:

Hybrid Bow (Alpha)
This sound isn't finished yet, I still need to refine some things.
Does it sound realistic? Nope! And it doesn't want to! It even sounded to realistic at some point, so I combined it with wavetables etc. to make it more interesting.
Sorry for the midi file. I'm just to lazy to record something at the moment :hihi:

Lithography
This one doesn't sound like any particular accoustic instrument. I just tried to imagine an instrument.

Thors Hammer
The obligatory epic drum sound :hihi:

Cheers

Dennis, all three are simply superb. I am almost speechless (I am never speechless). I love the growl in Lithography, and the taiko drums are unreal (surreal?) :hihi:

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Cool sounds! Thanks for posting...

I like Zebra for various acousticish pluck type sounds... The first is straight Zebra osc's no internal or external effects.

This one is more stylized... it uses a modulated portamento to create a subtle polyphonic pitchbend on some notes.

http://draigathar.org/sounds/Candetar3.wav

This one is soft, like using brushes to play the notes

Zebra is a near endless playground for plucked sounds. It is also unrivaled for bells of all sorts. I am a fan of hybrid realism and have not come across a synth that can match it for versatility.

I love the way Urs' stuff sounds, but I've demo'd Zebra twice and was never inspired. I love the Tyrell N6 and Diva, but this sound is just absolutely beautiful and is definitely making me want to look into Zebra again. Seriously, that third example... wow.

Man ... I should really read the manual of that synth and finally start to dive into it.

Those example do not only sound nice, they also sound different than what you can get out of most other synths.

Edit:
Wow, and the plucks of pdxindy are very nice as well.
No I actually have to get the demo again.

the sounds of Bronto and pdxindy are really amazing. Congrats to both of you. I specially loved the plucks.
