Hi everyone!

Filterscape was always the one Uhe VST I never really tried because I didn't want to feed my uhe GAS any further :hihi:
Well, I downloaded the demo yesterday :hihi:

I only really tried FilterscapeVA so far and I'm really stunned how amazing it is. It reminds me of the good old digi synths like the Wavestation, the SY77 and the D-50 :)
Not because it sounds like them but the sound has a similar flavour to me if that makes any sense :)

Any other fans out there? :)

Cheers
Dennis

Here is a widget with demos I did for my Filterscape Bank Edgy Scapes.
It's great tool!

Thank's Dennis, only resist your GAS if you really have to, Filterscape is just great and you would love it, if you had it :singer:

I was playing with this last night, too. It's the only U-he widget I don't have right now. I nearly got it a while back, because I thought it's EQ sounded nicer than the Cubase SX3 one, but now I've got Cubase 6, I think the EQs are improved. Either that or my soundcard and everything just makes it sound better?

No doubt I'll get it sometime in the next week. I thought the VA synth was pretty cool, too.

Split a bassline into hi/lo and use it on the highs
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

The EQ is indeed very nice, and I haven't even tried the morphing feature yet!

FilterscapeVA can sound seriously harsh (in a good way) I already got some 303-ish screaming basslines out of it :)

Keytracking + the polyphonic EQ = awesomeness
It works really well to enhance some overtones of a sound.

Like in this bell-ish sound for example:
Iridium Bell

Or in this pad sound:
Glass Choir

And here is a FM pad sound:
Dark Star

Good sounds! I love that choir. Is that Zebra?
Gotta try that. So many cool tools to explore.

Thanks :)
All three examples come straight out of FilterscapeVA (I should have said that).

No, it's various synths and instruments processed with Filterscape FX, in my Bank I did not make patches for the Filterscape synth but for the FX Plug-In.

I'm a Filterscapeist, love the effect, I see it not just as an effect though, It's more like a frequencing mangling enviroment..

I haven't really got to the bottom of the effect yet. I'm CPUunderpowered and by the time I get around to patching my sounds into effects I'm already getting dangerously close to the "RED". But I do use it, I aid the CPU with external synths so this way I can get into all sorts of interesting trouble.

I also have the PatchPool bank Edgy Scapes which I often use as starting points for further exploration.

I hope the plug keeps living and gets a following as it's really an important piece of work.

I like the idea of slow waves moving through a soundscape changing the frequency response. I am going mostly after subtle effects to add depth and breadth and/or bring out details in the instrunents here and there. I don't want the listner to say hey he's using filter morphing no I just want to create in the listener a sensation that an organic flow of changing sound timbres&colours like a restless breeze is moving through the music.

Regards

Wade
waves break, but somehow it all makes sense.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil
