We've had many u-he patch contests, both freestyle and themed, for which the voting is obviously subjective (difficult to see how it could be otherwise), but that doesn't seem to have caused much difficulty so far. ;)

Cool then. :)

Is the monthly patch contest still on? Can't seem to find any thread. Last I remember from Nov/Dec time frame that Hakey wanted to take some rest and close it for a couple of months. Any update?

So... than the theme would be a mini freestyle patch bank? (8-10 patches that will go nicely together)
Sounds reasonable for a 1st DIVA patch contest! :)

Getting a good level of participation in these contests - both in deciding themes and the numbers entering patches - can be hard work, to say the least!

Those interested in seeing these contests continue could help by taking part in the discussion here - the more people who are involved the better the contest will be!

As I see it, there are three choices for a Diva contest: freestyle, specific (design "this" kind of patch), or mini-patchbank.

I prefer the mini-patchbank idea, but maybe that's too much to ask?

:tu:

Just need to persuade a few more people (a dozen or so makes it worthwhile: doesn't look like we've got even half that yet).

Is the "patches that will go nicely together" bit really necessary? Keeping things simple seems to be a good rule for contest themes.

Well.. not really necessary.. but more to shape the idea.

And I really don't believe that the mini-patch bank is asking too much...
HELLO PPL.. there would be a u-he product to win!!!

ow yeah and just to avoid "minimoog" confusion, might be a good idea to call it a bit something else... like small, micro, nano :D

..but yeah, I also agree to keep things simple and attractive... so we can get this thing going already! :)

As long as the theme isn't 80's pop keys, I'm in what ever get decided. Haven't done one of these in ages!

I think 6 is a nice round half dozen :)

Would the beta version be included?

Max number of patches for a mini-bank?

Res (above) says six. I was thinking more - maybe even a dozen. What does everyone else think?

As it's a slightly more involved task than the usual patch contest, I'm thinking April 1st - six weeks from now - as the closing date for entries.

If you're asking whether patches created on the demo are admissible - yes, they are. :)

Quality over quantity. 6 seems like a nice mini-bank IMO.
