1. Manvanmars - Kaira electra - 5 points
Nice and well mastered track, very good composition which doesn't make you bore. Funky and groovy. My 5 points for you. Keep up the good work.

2. Dzah - Drops of Soft Pick - 4 Points
Very melodic, smooth and dreamy epicness, to be honest one of my favourites this month. Thanks for the track, into my playlist.

3. Yeager - So do I - 3 Points
What happens when you mix Bach with Commodore64 music style? Yeager! Nice melodic track this month.

4. Bzur - Puntillistic - 2 Points
Nice melodic track from Bzur, as usual. Questionless ID from him with a nice taste and complex composition.

5. Photonic - Kaira is calling - 1 Point
Another nice melodic track easy to listen with a happy taste.

As usually, sorry for not having more points, it was difficult, and no much time for comments.
Anyway, as you know, sometimes i try to vote for more people as possible each month, and not being total sticked to the usual contestants, so more people could have chance to win.

Honorable Mentions
Doc Jon and his nice electric guitar lead solo and dirty track (in the good way). Actually i was choosing for 4th place between this one and Bzur, but due some time without voting for Bzur, i decided for his track this time.
Markheath for being his first try with synthesizers, good job.
Gorgorgath and his egiptian melodies for this month.
Kraftraum and his smooth eletronica track easy to listen it.
RuediRenas FX sounds and basslines, mechanic is the word, as usually.
Alphuris and his aggressive patterns and nice SFX

Thanks for the votes and comments on my track.

Keep up the good works guys, i enjoyed listening all tracks this month and participating with all of you, i just feel fine to have some feedback and something to have my mind busy on (OSC tracks every month).
I hope to see you next month too then.

Have a good day :)

An ode to filtering. I am not quite shure if this one idea carries a whole track though I like some of the patches a lot.
That's all for now. Greetings from frosty Germany
Ty for your words :) You're probably right... In fact the first version I made hasn't the long filtered synth on it, and it was quite simple, but maybe more clean... Music is not easy to me. Not easy to develop a track properly.

I think that also happens on the new track i'm preparing for next OSC... At some moments I was about to give up again, but I found something I like and i'm working around it, tho it repeats (again) too much... So your comments are helpful :)

And about the patches, thx! For most of them I layered more than 1 Kaira instance. I should compile them in 1 pack, as someone said.

Great bunch of tracks by everyone! Here's my votes:

bzur - pointillistic - 5 pts
Nice dotted sounds… when I squint my ears I think I can actually make out an image of something. Wonderful wide and spacious mix. The descending melody at 1:20 gives me chills. I can listen to this over and over, and would hang it on my wall if I could.

IrionDaRonin - A Child's Hope - 4 pts
Wonderful composition. Some unorthodox sounds that work surprisingly well in context. Technically it's fantastic, and yet the feelings and emotions really come through.

Doc Jon - Kaira's Nightmare - 3 pts
Squelching, squealing goodness. Some really sweet soloing. Love the fat juicy kick and tight rhythm.

Cjohs - March of the Estranged - 2 pts
Otherworldly and a pleasure to listen to. Love the melodies and the thick and rich sound.

Mark Heath - The Adventures of Captain Trillian - 1 pt
Really like the slightly fuzzy texture of this track. The arrangement and progressions are great. Some really well done and interesting changes.

Special mention to gorgorgathgorgorgor and Ruedirena for very creative interpretations of folk tunes. It's really fascinating to hear old melodies recreated with modern sounds …alas no more points to give.

Other runners up:
Photonic - Kaira is Calling (super creative and a great listen), Alphuris - Wind-up (hypnotic with nice builds), Yeager - So Do I (great movement and melodies), DzAH - Drops of Soft Pick (really does sound like a felt pick - so soothing), manvanmars - Kaira Electra (really cool rhythm and sounds)

1. Doc Jon - Kaira's Nightmare - 5 points

Very good overall quality. The screaming sound is just insane! The track has interesting variation and manages to maintain excellent flow through the different parts. This track sounds to me like it was made with Kairatune and in a state of inspiration, playing the strengths of the synth.

2. Manvanmars - Kaira Electra - 4 points

I can't really explain why i like this track so much. The simplicity and elegance is just so pleasing. The riff that starts along with the fade out at the end makes me want to rewind again and again.

3. Mark Heath - The Adventures of Captain Trillian - 3 points

A fine track - sounds like Kairatune all the way. This track has the most catchy melody in this competition. It's the one that doesn't stop playing when you shut the computer and go to other business. :)

4. Irion Da Ronin - A Child's Hope - 2 points

This track has very good overall quality, a wonderful atmosphere and to my opinion the best mix. It's really beautiful work!

5. Gorgorgathgorgorgor - Maselvhallingen - 1 point

I don't know how much i'm a friend of Norwegian folk music, :) but the sounds on this track are from another dimension. Great work!

There were a dozen other tracks that i really liked too. It's been great listening to your music. Thank you all!

Ok here comes my votes (it was hard - had to use elimination by detail :-)

Points:
IrionDaRonin - A Child's Hope: 5
Dzah - Drops of Soft Pick: 4
Kraftraum - Rotation 2: 3
Doc Jon - Kaira's Nightmare: 2
Manvanmars - kaira electra: 1
and this concludes the votes from this juror

Honorable mentionings (and why not):
bzur - pointilistic : just not hitting my genre-bullseye
markheath - The adventures of Captain Trillian: I'm missing some bottom here
Yeager - So do I: too mainstream in my ears (sorry - bad excuse)

...but I enjoyed listening to all these VERY different tracks, and also participating even though I need to sharpen my style ;-)

First of all, thanks to mfa/futucraft for making this awesome sounding synth.
Second, thanks to all who commented on my track on soundcloud, and took the time to write reviews on my track and everybody else's, here in the forum.
Third, again it was very hard to leave tracks out of the top 5, it's so great to hear so many different approaches to the term "MUSIC", and I mean that in the most positive way.
Some of the tracks I would never seek out to listen to, but I'm glad I did !
I think you are all very talented. :)

The five tracks that slowly floated above the rest while listening were :

Manvanmars - Kaira Electra 5 points
Irion - A Childs Hope 4 points
Bzur - Pointillistic 3 point(illistic)s
MarkHeath - Trillian 2 points
DocJon - Kairas Nightmare 1 point.

Just missed my top 5 :

Photonic
Kraftraum
Dzah
Alphuris
Both track by key88 made me smile and think "The Residents" lost a member. :hihi:

Thank you all and good luck.

Gorgorgathgorgorgor - Måselvhallingen - 5 Points
By Far my favorite track of the month. I seriously want to just fatten up the kicks with an 808 and rap over it and release it. People would dance in clubs to it, it's just way, way, way too funky. Seriously, may I?

Doc Jon - Kaira's Nightmare - 4 Points
The second stand out track to me. It's like Depeche Mode meets Information Society with Roger and Zap. Makes me want to break out parachute pants, a neon fishnet tank top and a Members Only jacket. Love it, big time.

RuediRena - Kairibean Thoughts - 3 Points
I'm typically not into minimalistic music unless it's AC/DC, but this was just irresistible. While not a typical soundtrack kind of song, I can totally picture a music only cut scene in a indie film with this track over it, think Head Over Heels in Donnie Darko. Love it.

manvanmars - kaira electra - 2 Points
Seems like a lot of the stuff on the Airdrawndagger album from Sasha, totally into it. RuediRena barely beat you out. I'd give you both 2.5 if I could.

Yeager - So Do I - 1 Point
This track was average to me until the second break makes it. I honestly would love more of this part, it was fun and made me wish I was hearing it as a track all by itself in a club.

Honorable mentions:

bzur - pointillistic
I really wasn't feeling this, but the overall production of this track is just so high it can't be denied. I like it even though I don't really like it. Nice job.

Gorgorgathgorgorgor - Krummavísur
Really liked this one as well, but was beat out by a few others. Both your tracks were awesome though!

Key88
I loved both tracks equally, So You Think Hmm was actually better imo, but too long which evened them out. Love your style though.

Didn't enter this month but wanted to take part in the voting, however time got away from me...I did get to listen to all the tracks once but don't feel like that's enough to warrant sorting out a vote. So I'm just commenting (off the record):

Gratz to all who entered - this is a cool synth but not (IMHO) an easy one to produce a full mix (forgetting first even that it's mono).

Seems like a lot of entrants said f**k it, and went just went for it - LMAO at some of the tracks. A few standouts (in no particular order):

Ruid Rena - my favorite from you guys now - that triplet groove was awesome - must have been in a real humorous mood. Same with gorgor...'s Måselvhallingen - HA - all the Norwegian's living in the middle east will feel right at home. I dubbed DocJon's track "Groupie Screams at Frampton Concert". Liked manvanmars groove, zi90's scary track, as well as markheath, bzur, irion...

I could go on. Good luck to all, and sorry I don't have time to sort out points and give the tracks the full attention they deserved.

(oh, InterSlot Call - "I Hate This Synth" - best title!)
