Messy install

Just saw a bundleinstall of Melda, quite a messy install. Files in AppData are all over the place. Maybe use one MeldaProduction subdir in the future instead of loose files and subdirs.

I'd hate to see my HD like that. Imagining a minimun of 15 minutes it would take to find & uninstall all that!

Hi, I know about that, but we decided to keep it this way for sake of compatibility. Generally you shouldn't even look at this folder, this is something like registry, for applications only. If you uninstall the bundle, then these files are completely harmless. Even if you'd use the plugins for a long time so that they create several configuration files to make them easier to use, then uninstall it, then there would be like 100 of them. That's nothing compared to remaining 50000 allover the system. I know it's a little bit an excuse, but I think it kind of justifies it.

PS. Maybe I'll try to move it to subfolder, but that will need lots of courage :D.

I understand but as i'm sure you know, many of us DAW users have become OS pro's throughout the years. Tweaking for audio performance etc..

Please when you can, move it to a subfolder. Possibly also adding a menu which plugin to install in the installer.

Thanks.

Be brave! ;)

Actually, just did yesterday :). Not fully tested yet, seems working. Not all of it though. The preset files had to stay in place as they are shared between plugins, so it would need to update everything, not feasible right now. But the main directory mess should be corrected.
Anyway optional - definitely no. There are several technical reasons and since this folder is designed for it there's no reason to make things complicated.

Vojtech U amaze me u really listen youre customers and have most of the time a posistive feedback to our requests.
Other company are often ok with request but can't do it due to the framework they use or other problem du to the core of the programm.
I haven't programming skills but it seems u can really change all easily in you're products and even i know it's not really easy:).
Anyway thx for all of us for to be an "open" personn and by the way this user's request is good i like too have all in a subfolder in the programms directory.
Ok i think it's time to leave you because i know u are in the M4 process now :D and good luck i am so hungry about this upcomming news about M4 ^^.

Sorry, is it possible to make a one directory install for the freeware plugins pack now? If not, please make the use of AppData optional. Some people don't like to use system drive for nothing except the system. Some people use usb flash drive for their music stuff.

I'm afraid this won't be possible. The plugins need the shared resources.
