Wondering if Zebra 2 can be controlled by osc? And if not, is there any plan or thoughts of doing so? I plan to control it from a custom sequencing app of mine, and would ideally like to do it in a non-midi manner.

Thanks!

I think these options should be handled on host level.

I'm completely oblivious to OSC though, I have no idea how it works or what it actually really does. I might assign this task to Clemens, so he can find out what's possible or not.

(that said, control surfaces, mainly MIDI, will be our main topic for a few weeks from end of next week on)

OSC with Zebra would be great! Although I don't think a person would really be able to use it without the host supporting it unless there was a standalone version of Zebra. I've been doing mostly live video work for the past couple of years and I only use OSC for my controllers. When I started get back into music this fall midi was driving me nuts not being able to send the actually value I wanted something to be.

That being said I am actually using OSC with Zebra right now in Ableton with Max for Live (also with a couple of other synths and plugins). I use a Max patch that receives OSC from my Lemur and then controls some XY's parameter's through the M4L API.

I wanted to use it so I could precisely control the LFO rate's in Zebra live. I used Paterpeter's formula for LFO rate to note interval in the Max patch that then sends exact values so the LFO's rate knob snap's to the desired position for that interval.

If anyone is using M4L I can post the patch if they want to use and or modify it for other parameters.

cheers
Keith
