(Not to be confused with ACE divas - sorry...)

I recently spent quite some time getting to know DIVA, and with the help of the vast number of presets available, finally figured out how she functions. However, I'm still not sure what the 4 'rnd' buttons are in Trimmers - how do you make them stay lit, and what do they do when they are?

Post

from the manual:

Cutoff Slop / Env Slop / PW Slop / Glide Slop are similar to Max Detune, but for cutoff frequency, envelope times, pulse widths and glide times respectively. These do not have individual knobs, but a randomize button (rnd) instead.

such simple advice, so often ignored.

 Fair point. Please excuse my very public stupidity! Thanks KBSoundSmith for the quote.

So the fact that some of the rnd buttons are constantly lit in eg. Third Party/Treasure Trove/SFX Birdy l SM , is just a graphics bug?

These patches were probably saved with a very early beta version since it was indeed possible to turn the randomize button on and off in the some early versions.
But it doesn't affect the presets in newer versions. Just consider it a small graphic glitch :)

(If you open the presets in a text editor you can possibly find a line somewhere which says something like "PwSlop=1" and "CutoffSlop=1" or something similar, you could delete it to get rid of the small glitch if it bothers you).

Cheers

Or just press those buttons to turn them off. :)

:) Initially I did turn them off, and then panicked when I couldn't turn them back on again - all is now clear. Many thanks!

Yeah, I know those feelings. "Mom, I broke the lightbulbs in the software!"

Good that you asked. Now that only very small things like this slipped through to the release versions we can be very happy with it as it is. :)

All part of the vintage emulation :hihi:

In a year or so there will be a Diva transistor update to replace the old transistors :hihi:
The knobs will need an overhaul by that time too :hihi:

Has Urs also programmed degrading caps and scratchy pots that will show up in a few years?
How about a couple of notes that just stop sounding to emulate bad keyboard contacts?!
:hihi:

Let's reserve those "features" for the 100% Analog Purists. :)
