What's the path to your presets folder, and where's Zebra2.data located?
I didn't want to add any code that deletes any files, but I might add a "move to trash" function when I get to it.

ok... that sounds like your presets are stored in those Windows roaming locations. That is, because anything under Program Files is write protected, Windows stores files in a mysterious place and acts "as if they were there". I haven't seen that in a while though, and I have never actually understood this mechanism.
Does anybody know where those roaming files are?

I had the same problem a couple years a go, right now i'm at work behind a mac, so I can't be of any help now. Maybe dig up the old topic I made? I know the sollution is in there.

Make sure you have "show hidden folders" in the explorer folder options ticked on. Otherwise you won't see anything in the virtual store folder. Here's the old topic from back then:

I can't believe I ran Vista for over a year without losing my sanity. So glad i'm rid of that crap.

Sorry for the slight OT:
Urs, you mentioned that you don't want the plugin browers to directly affect the file system iirc but it would be really, really, REALLY nice if it would be possible to delete and rename presets directly from the plugin browser itself.
Cheers

Sure... we'll address those issues. I'm not alone anymore, there's people who are code savvy enough to do thisBronto Scorpio wrote:Sorry for the slight OT:

My biggest file management issue is down to manually saving multiple tweaked versions of a patch to A/B against the original - a laborious process (press Save, type new patch name, press Okay) which results in a folder full of redundant patches.
A bespoke A/B function would considerably speed up the process as well as reducing folder maintenance.
Undo/redo doesn't do the same thing (never use it myself).

It would be extremely nifty if there would be a "Save new version" button (or hotkey).hakey wrote:My biggest file management issue is down to manually saving multiple tweaked versions of a patch to A/B against the original - a laborious process (press Save, type new patch name, press Okay) which results in a folder full of redundant patches.

A patch could than consist of multible versions and could be opened like a folder in the browser where I can listen to all my saved versions. A "Make version permanent" button would than delete all other versions and replace the parent patch by the selected version
Similar to the take system in Cubase.
But I guess we don't want to ask for too much
Edit: I have many of these completely "out there" ideas but I never ask for them because they are just too much and no one besides me would need them
Cheers

Sheeesh... we do have to find a middle way that's neither unintuitive for newbies nor insufficient for pros...

No worries. It was more of a joke. Something like that would be way too muchUrs wrote:Sheeesh... we do have to find a middle way that's neither unintuitive for newbies nor insufficient for pros...
