+1. Probably my favourite title sequence ever.

Interesting reading that they originally tried to find a Bulgarian choir.... I'm really glad they didn't as the Japanese voices sound really unique and different imo.

Agreed. Sometimes, I think these things seem work out for the better.

(Still interested in Andrew's library though.)
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Hey! Here is another fan of the ghost in the shell movies!

Olivier Deriviere uses a lot of Bulgarian Choir performances in his games scores:

Alone in the Dark 5 - Shto Li

I also love the singing on Howls Moving Castle:

Agreed. I don't know if the library has Bulgarian women's choir samples but I also don't see how they could leave something that important out.

Study Japanese Enka Singing as it's just traditional style japanese music.
use Modal Harmony and study The Drumming of Taikos.

They did - leave it out. But I guess in VOP they were going for solo voices only.

Another fan of Ghost in the Shell, anime films and anime series. Also cyborgs and cyberpunk futuristic themes.

I subscribed to this thread to learn more about, and if there are choirs samples like those.

I'm in love with both soundtracks (series and films) since i was a teenager about 10 years ago.

Have a good day :)

It's all about the gutteral, raw singing style with lots of 'eee', 'ehh', turns/mordents and very sparse vibrato (if any at all). The way the GitS movie choirs are recorded is also very thin, which works very well.

My partner (Will) is very particular about this library being done perfectly. We have the raw material and it is a matter of meticulous editing and programming to make it a truly expressive instrument. While nothing can replace a real choir, our goal is to create a focused instrument that really captures this intense sound. It will not be a "one size fits all" type approach as some other choir libraries. It will not work for every style of music. And I definitely think this is the right approach.

That's correct,
Audiogrocery released the ORPHEUS Trilogy Part 1 (22 Bulgarian Voices massive choir patches plus 5 bonus solo vocal instruments) in Ni Kontakt format a while ago. The best Bulgarian choirs take part in that project which is recorded and programed in Bulgaria.
There are a few Demo Audios and two HD Demo Videos in the product page.

Audiogrocery,

Wow. Sounds and looks amazing. I may have to seriously consider this library for my productions.
