I could not get .rx2 files to work in the 64 bit version on the PC either.

Post

Ok to get it working I had to :

1. Trash all all my preferences for UVI and

2. Open it only in 32bit (otherwise the standalone hangs when quitting it)

..then rex files worked, but I had to remake my favorites (no big deal there)..

However another huge bug I've found in the process is the rex which were resaved as .uviwp presets do not work whatsoever.

Even the tutorial bank ones don't work

(Cubase 6/VST / OSX 10.6.8 Mac Pro)
You're probably in 64bits.
You should install REX LIbrary 1.7

The 64bits lib on Windows has not been officially released.
If you got the REX SDK, then you could grab it from here.
Otherwise you need prop to release their stuff.

You need to save multis in version 2.

~Cough!~ you mean you removed them?

Okaaaaaay....not exactly a kind cut for backward compatibilty though

I keep hoping you guys will get this back to the previous usability..I really appreciate the re-adding of the browser and pitch for slice.

I'll see how it goes, I guess I can always opt back out and go back to the earlier version.

It's so close to being an actual improvement in v2!

Preset search speed became too slow at v2.0.3.
It seems that re-create a new database file when I simply open the category titles (Instruments, Loops, and Sounds) including "Search".
I have to wait about 10 seconds for each time, is this normal?

That shouldn't happen indeed.
Do you see the indexing popup window or is it just slow to display the first results ?
How many UFS have you ?

Thanks !

I mean the indexing popup window.
It has become so slow after the database has been built once, not only the first full scan.
The database file size are increases each time.

And also, it seems that do the full scan every time when I restarted the OS...

I have 10 UFS files including the demo packs.

Thanks,

Hello,

many thanks indeed for bringing back the edit panel!

I have an issue: I'm trying UVI Workstation 2.0.3 on a secondary PC (not my main DAW PC, where I have all the banks I have purchased) and with the UVI Tutorial Set I cannot manage to show the edit panel for this bank: is this normal?

Thanks in advance,
Cochrane

The new Tutorial UFS use what we call macro knobs.

It's an easy access to some quick parameters for the preset.

When the preset is setup with macro knob, the edit is not available.
You can eventually use the older version of the Tutorial UFS from your other PC if you want more controls.

Hope this clarify things

Thanks,
Could you please check if the file
C:/Documents And Settings/nameOfYourUser/Application Data/UVIWorkstation/UVIWorkstation.db exists ?

(or localized version of those folders)

If it does, remove it and try back.

Thanks for the prompt answer.

I've taken my iLok and now I see the new edit panel for some of the old banks without macros.

One more thing: I'm the only one able to load both UVI Workstation 1.1.7 (I prefer the GUI) and 2.0.3 (for new banks with custom panels) together in Cubase?

For what I've read it should seem impossible, but I'm interested in using both and they seem working well together!

Cheers and thanks,
Cochrane
