Cochrane wrote:One more thing: I'm the only one able to load both UVI Workstation 1.1.7 (I prefer the GUI) and 2.0.3 (for new banks with custom panels) together in Cubase?

For what I've read it should seem impossible, but I'm interested in using both and they seem working well together!

Cheers and thanks,

That shouldn't happen as they have the same VST ID.
You probably have renamed the DLL and cubase is using this ?

Or it uses the version 1 in 32bits and version 2 in 64bits and there are not in the same folder on the HD.

This is not supported so use this at your own risk.

I'm using Cubase 6 32 bit and I confirm I have renamed one of the dll: maybe Cubase tolerates same VST ID, but I've tryed also to save and reload a project and it seems to be working well (they reload also the correct preset). Maybe other hosts don't allow this type of thing.

I will take my risks... ;-)

Thanks,
Cochrane

C:/Documents And Settings/nameOfYourUser/Application Data/UVIWorkstation/UVIWorkstation.db exists ?

(or localized version of those folders)

If it does, remove it and try back.
I removed it, but just the same results.

Can't reproduce so far.

Which entry do you have in the soundbanks panel of the Preferences window ?

Do you have custom stuff besides the 3 UVISoundbanks ?

Is it a reference folder locations of the soundbanks?
If so, custom stuff isn't adding anything.
There are only the default paths in below created during installation.

C:\Program Files (x86)\UVISoundBanks
C:\Program Files (x86)\UltimateSoundBank\UVISoundBanks
C:\Users\MyName\Documents\UVISoundBanks

And, all the checkbox options remains a default, too.

Yes, it is a reference folder locations of the soundbanks.

You can try removing the two last one, but I don't think it is related to your issue.

Beside this, I don't have much idea as it run flawlessly on my setup.
As it is able to create the db file, it doesn't looks like to be a permission issue.

Will check the code.

I tried it, but the result was the same.

Thanks for your work.

I'm facing a very serious problem.

When I use UVI Workstation v2.0.3(both RTAS and Wrapped VSTi) on Pro Tools LE 8.0.5, the OS freezes without exception.

At first the movement of the mouse becomes very slow, and a system completely stops later.
It happens after several tens of seconds or a few minutes after the start of playback.

I have build the same situation in other DAW and tried it, but the problem didn't happens.
I don't think that the cause is CPU power and RAM. because, it also freezes with very small session.

It happens with any sounds loaded or even without any sounds loaded ?

Something I've read on numerous forum is that you should put in PT settings N-1 processor when N is the number of core of your computer especially in older version of Protools.

Let us know how it goes.

It seems that it happens only with any sounds loaded.
And it doesn't happen if I don't play with MIDI keyboard or MIDI Sequence tracks.

The problem didn't happen as you say, if I change to "3 Processors".
And also, it didn't happen when UVI Workstation's GUI was hidden even if I put in "4 Processors".

What do you think about the possibility that GUI drawing give something influence on CPU performance?

Thanks,

Thanks,
UVIWorkstation doesn't redraw much stuff in the UI, but from what I read in others forum it happens with other V.Is as well so I suspect it is a PT issue.
Probably related to sync between UI an audio threads

Some examples:

http://www.gearslutz.com/board/so-much- ... t-4-a.html
http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=295535

and from a guy saying it's the Digidesign answer
http://www.gearslutz.com/board/so-much- ... tting.html

Sorry about that.

Thank you, Otristan. I was able to understand the details of this problem clearly.
I'll continue my PT sessions with "3 Processors" settings from now.

Is there any place to down load the scripting documentation for this plugin? How do you become a third party scripter?

Documentation is right here
http://www.uvi.net/machfivescript/

In order to script instrument, you only need MOTU MachFive 3.

Third party SDK is only required to make protected soundbank.

Let us know if you need further information.

Just got deep into the UVI demo... Seem like this is what I need..
Are there any plans for a Brass Section library (pop)? Seems like the it's made for a great brass section with that stunning arp. Or are there any demos on the Plugsound Pro Brass?
