I'd like to be able to script midi messages (maybe with CC commands) that change the routing of an ACE patch. I know you can control the various depth knobs, but I want to change the connectivity of the patch cables, or get functionality that's equivalent to that..
Is this possible at the moment? I'm guessing no... but it would be pretty sick if it was!
is there external routing control (via midi) in ACE?

Actually yes.
What you can do is the following:
1. Open Ace.
2. Click on the source point.
3. Go to your DAW and select automate last touched parameter.
4. If your DAW lets you automate VSTi parameters via CC then you're done. Otherwise you'll have to use envelope lanes.
Hope that works (tested it here with Reaper).

You can manually edit the midi map file to midi-control the cables. I once posted how it works, but d'oh... it's geek stuff.
We are however working on "cable-controls" for external controllers and MIDI. Thus, expect answers soon.
