BFD2 install - I'm obviously missing something...

HI All,

I sent a support ticket on this but they won't get it till Monday.
Figured I'd post to see if anyone experienced this.

Here's what I did so far.
* Downloaded the plug-in "prep installer".
* Copied it to the "<Receptor Hard Drive>\Drop Installers Here\" folder.
* Clicked the "Install" button from the Receptor's SETUP window.

Never saw a prompt of anything so I assumed it installed.
I started it late and had to shut down.

Next day I see the installer is in the successfully installed folder
on receptor.

Dragged the Windows installer from the BFD2 disc in to the Drop Installers Here folder - clicked install from the setup window and got this
message:
"Unable to automatically locate the Installscript.
This file should normally be located in CWD/Installer/InstallerScript.fis
Please find the required file."

When I clicked ok out of that prompt it just hung there with the hourglass.
I could move the mouse but couldn't click anywhere. I forced a shutdown.

I found the ".fis" on the BFD2 disc and dropped that onto receptor - the BFD2
installer file was still there so it now showed 2 installs pending.

Clicked install and it just hung again. I don't even know if the prep installer is on there - I never got a prompt about anything.

Today I see there are FXpansion files in the VST folder on receptor so for the hell of it I copied my audio files from the laptop (you're supposed to install BFD2 on your laptop to move those umcompressed files over)

When you install BFD2 on a computer there's a whole prompt session you have to go through. I never saw anything like that on receptor.
Not sure what I'm even looking for.

Hopefully someone can give me a clue, if not I'll just wait for the
support ticket reply, figured I'd throw it out there...
thanks...
Tim

Hi Tim,

I installed BFD2 a while back, but I don't remember all of the details about the procedure.

Did the instructions say that the .mrpk was a prep installer *and* you had to run the BFD installer as well? (I thought I remembered just installing the .mrpk, and then copying over *alot* of drum data (as you, I took the drum data from an install on another computer). I also remember having to run FXpansions authorizer on the receptor).

BFD2 seemed to work pretty well overall once installed. I got one of the FXpansion extension libraries running as well.

Hope this helps, Regards,
Kevin L

I downloaded the BFD2 installer from Plugorama last night and tried to install it on my Receptor 2; it failed. Downloaded another installer in case of a faulty file and tried to install it again; it failed again. Perhaps the installer needs updating.
