Oh I thought this was to mean the MUX can save to VST! Its actually going to be a VST that can be used with other DAW's? I suppose it amounts to the same thing in the end though.

That are good news
...one more note from my side...because the MUX could be a very capable replacement for NI Kore...
I hope, the Metaparameters will be available for parameter VST automation and please could you take care, that if you change a preset, the changes of the meta parameters will be send to the outside... this would make it useable for use with Novations Automap software

Hope you can make it support Automap as I recently bought Impulse and can't use Automap at all.

As soon as it is released as VST/i you'll sure be able to wrap it like all other VST/i's, but the biggest issue I found with some VST/i's like e.g. Synth1, the Fabfilter plugins or NI Kore2 is, that they don't transmit the parameter changes on preset change, which means, that Automap cannot refresh the controller settings on the encoders...sl23 wrote:Hope you can make it support Automap as I recently bought Impulse and can't use Automap at all.

i predict this mux vst will be the calling card that helps drive mulab's popularity. i cant wait for this. another good move jomutools wrote:Yes MUX VST patches will be 100% compatible with MuLab MUX.

Yeah especially if there will be an interesting upgrade path to MuLab 4 UL I think> DiGiT < wrote:i predict this mux vst will be the calling card that helps drive mulab's popularity. i cant wait for this. another good move jomutools wrote:Yes MUX VST patches will be 100% compatible with MuLab MUX.
I also wonder if the MUX vst(i) will be free for MuLab 4 UL users, because in fact they already have the (exact?) same functionality (except it's locked to MuLab)?
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

i think there should be available in the mux environment many styles of sequencer modules including perhaps a piano roll. there should be interesting ways to interact with playing back the sequence(es) from the mux input like locking notes to scale, mode changing, transposition, pattern switching, etc. maybe the interface of the sequencer could be added to the mux UI... this could be very good indeed

is there any possibility of MuLab being compatible with Automap or is that down to novation to sort out?

Nice try...Nielzie wrote: I also wonder if the MUX vst(i) will be free for MuLab 4 UL users, because in fact they already have the (exact?) same functionality (except it's locked to MuLab)?
Seriously: Jo must be very silly to do this...MuLab is already a steal at the current price and to give such a powerful VST on top...he has to pay his bills too...

I wouldn't expect this...many developers claiming to be left alone by Novation by trying to make their software Automap compatible...no support etc....sl23 wrote:is there any possibility of MuLab being compatible with Automap or is that down to novation to sort out?
But I already spoke to Jo about something like a softtakeover for midi controllers to be able to use endless encoders without parameter jumps on different targets in future versions, so this should help a lot...
But I guess, this is not very high priority atm... releasing the VST/i versions is important for Jo's wallet and afaik it has and should have highest priority... a bankrupt developer cannot help anybody and the VST/i market is much bigger than the host market, especially if you've got something great to offer...

No problem I wish Jo all the best. I've only had few little goes on MuLab since buying it last month but Jo has done good job on it. Well worth the money.
If vst market is more profitable perhaps he should make MuLabs other internal synths and fx into vst?

That's, what he does atm... MUX VST offers anyway all you can do in MuLab (Effects- and Generatorwise)...there will be a Reverb VST and I hope the MuDrum VST too...sl23 wrote: If vst market is more profitable perhaps he should make MuLabs other internal synths and fx into vst?

yeah that's what I was hoping for
look forward to the release, though I expect its a long way off
Will MuLab still be developed if he makes more from the VSTs though? Hope so its a brilliant DAW It'd be shame for it to stop.
Just wondering if the Mux VST is going to be identical to the version in MuLab? So unless I use another DAW there's no need to get the Mux VST? I like the idea of the VST version. Is it capable of making instruments as well as fx?
A question regarding using the Mux... I have an EMX-1 Electribe could I use that to sequence and control stuff made with Mux? I realise if it is possible it'll be only on the currently selected Mux or part/track/instrument.
