In Logic you simply assign a track to midi (or external), as opposed to assigning a track to a software instrument or audio. There are lots of different DAWs but I think most would operate in some similar way. Essentially you are using the Receptor as any other midi hardware module. Good luck.

Thanks for your help. I use Reaper. I don't understand how/if one connects to the receptor with a midi cable. What is driving the sound through the system. Is there a midi cable from a keyboard controller going into the receptor and then a midi out of the receptor into the sound card. Really confused.

In this instance you'd need to connect the MIDI Out from your sound card to the MIDI In on Receptor. Then you take audio out from the Receptor back into the sound card so you can hear what the Receptor is playing.
Alternatively, you could run UniWire over Ethernet. This means you just take one Ethernet cable between your Computer and Receptor, and UniWire does the rest.
Hope this helps
