very nice sounding filter btw, IMO, apart from the other interesting features..
nice work CableGuys
Peace out and happy easter, Jakob
I just tested with the current demo of Renoise. So..: Other than with other hosts, in Renoise the song needs to be running to have the wave display updated.hcv242 wrote:in renoise it has some issues...the plug loads ok but :

- when i ie click the predefined sine waveform button, nothing happens.
- when i add dots to the patterns no lines are shown...i just see the dots...guess this is the same issue as the previous one.

The button is not a parameter. Instead, clicking on it influences other parameters (here: changing x and y values of the points, which are parameters). Clicking on it changes these parameters, and that can be recorded by the host sequencer.djskope wrote:..but I cannot find the parameters for the 2 buttons that flip / invert the waveform (both vertically and horizontally) in the list of automatable parameters..
No idea how Cubase handles program changes, if that's automatable. But I propose that you take 3 instances of FilterShaper with different patches, and only activate the FilterShaper instance that you need (I guess Cubase allows to automate the on/off-state of a plugin?).djskope wrote:I also cannot find a way in Cubase 5 to change the effect presets quickly and easily - it would be great if this was automatable as well. This is for quickly switching from one patch to another. For example, I would like to switch the filter effect patch on my break / bass from say the presets 'Bandstop' to 'Acid' to 'The Pendular' as the song progresses.
In my confused mind I was thinking that these two buttons could each be a parameter themselves. Thanks for explaining - I'll give this a try.Jakob / Cableguys wrote: The button is not a parameter. Thanks for your suggestion on this point: for making dnb and dubstep I would really like to switch between more than 3 preset filter settings per song - it's more like 33. I originally mentioned just 3 presets because it made my example clearer to understand. For me it is not really practical to create 33 instances of Filtershaper, solo one and mute the other 32 whenever I want to switch the filter effect preset, which may be a large number of times, per song. I was curious because many (most?) VST Instruments respond to MIDI Program Change messages so I wondered if / why this was not possible with Filterscape. Maybe it's all VST FX in general? It would certainly make programming filter switch-ups a lot easier - a feature which could be very useful with today's musical styles. In the meantime I have thought of a workaround which should be a lot neater than repeatedly solo-ing 1 / bypassing multiple FX channels but it's still not as straightforward or CPU-efficient as sending a MIDI PrgChg message.Jakob / Cableguys wrote: No idea how Cubase handles program changes, if that's automatable. Got it. I'll write down MIDI PrgChg message as feature wish. Wondering though, if the host sequencer can send this PrgChang message dedicated to FilterShaper - so if there are other effect plugins or a synthesizer on the same track, how do we know that the PrgChange is dedicated to us.djskope wrote:.. but it's still not as straightforward or CPU-efficient as sending a MIDI PrgChg message.
Good question - In Cubase I'm pretty sure it can be done by using Filtershaper as a send effect and routing the MIDI to that, and maybe even when using FS as an insert effect. I'm in the middle of Belkin KVM hell today but once I get that sorted I'll test and post a routing screenshot.Jakob / Cableguys wrote: - so if there are other effect plugins or a synthesizer on the same track, how do we know that the PrgChange is dedicated to us.
