It's very strange and not always predictable. I've got DIVA saved to an instrument rack in Ableton Live. I save it at Fast setting. Normally when I load it, it loads with the fast setting, however the first time I load DIVA during an Ableton session, it will always load in Great quality mode. Then if I load it immediately a second time without touching any at all, it will load the second time in Fast mode. It will usually always load in Fast after that but I've seen it go back to Great as well sometimes.
Not a big deal to change it to Fast again, but I find it very strange. Can anyone else confirm this?
thanks

The quality settings are per instance.
They are not saved with project settings.
You will have to manually set them to what they were, every time you open the project.
I think this, because that's what is happening with my own experience as well.
Although I change mine to divine mode, which is the only setting I use.
I bet anything though. You can script it into the h2p file so that it opens those scripted default patches to be any setting you want.

This is something that is definitely cause difficulties for me. When I have set the quality mode for a Diva instance and save the project, this setting should stick until I change it.

Wierd, Diva saves its current quality setting with the projects for me in Cubase, maybe this is a specific issue with Ableton?.
Worth raising as a bug then I think.

Hmmmm.. Parameters that are saved with instance/song are a bit of a stunt I admit. We measure the time between the creation of an instance and setting the first preset. We assume that it's a setting saved with song if the time is less than 2 seconds.
However, Live might reuse existing instances when switching an instrument rack, and then there might not be a chance to tell saved settings from freshly loaded ones. Dunno.

Is there a way to script into the h2p file, the default quality setting?

But even so, this doesn't seem to explain what's going on in my case.Urs wrote:Hmmmm.. Parameters that are saved with instance/song are a bit of a stunt I admit. I load an instance of DIVA saved in an instrument rack in Ableton. It loads in GREAT setting. I immediately reload the same rack containing DIVA WITHOUT changing the quality setting or touching anything at all and it loads in FAST setting. It tends to load in fast every time thereafter but not always, I haven't found a pattern.
I did save this rack with DIVA in fast setting, but why would it load it in great the first time and then load it in fast every time after that when I haven't changed the setting in that instance or in the project session at all?

I had that same problem in Live during the Beta period. The final version, fixed it for me.Echoes in the Attic wrote: I load an instance of DIVA saved in an instrument rack in Ableton. I don't know why you would still have that happen with the latest version.
Maybe throw out the U-he Diva midi control file that's in that midi map folder.
See if it helps. I think it has to do with the midi, and the Live preferences with that sync/i/o section in Live.
