Let's discuss and learn something about the Math module. It seems that many of us don't have a real clue what it's good for (me included).

First idea is given by Vojtech himself by demonstrating its usage for a Dynamic crossover.

Another possibility is to use it for oscillator processing/bending/wrecking... here's an example: Two MXXX-OSCs are routed through a Math module which provides a simple subtraction.

You'll probably better see the results in this (without sound, sorry). Pay attention to the oscilloscope on the right hand side and watch it changing while some parameters change.

Add: pls overlook the forgotten ratio module in this setting. It does not make sense here.

Actually in this case you could just mix then, because subtraction is just addition (mix) with inverted sign (which is not really relevant).

The math module is more like an engineering stuff. The dynamic crossover is a very simple example of what you can do with it. Basically many processors are basically just sets of these basic matemathical operations. What all you can do with it is probably beyond my imagination :).

I feared that. :|

But you gave a valuable hint. I know now where to look* for studying, examples and inspiration. :wheee:

Could it be used for phase distortion?

- Invert one signal
- Delay it by a few milliseconds in a delay module placed in the inverted signal path
Sum the two signals...

?

:)

Well, this would be more like comb filtering. You can distort phase just by delaying it, but it is usually useless.
