Where are my MeldaProduction plug ins going?!

I'm afraid I have to ask a very basic question here.

Let me explain:

I'm looking for some pitch correction software that is under £50, has to be automatic/semi automatic and NOT real time.

I decided to check out MeldaProduction's offering.

I downloaded and installed the mfreeeffectsbundle_6. it asked for permission, I gave it permission, then when it asked me where I wanted to install the AU and VST elements (don't need VST3) the option of where to install was blocked out. I installed anyway (assuming it will go to the default directory) but when I get there, I don't see any VSTs or AU files, only

LICENCE.TXT
mlicencemanager.dat
setup
setup.state
update.cmd

the set up uninstalls the program.

Where are the VST and AU files? Can anyone solve this mystery?!

Can anyone else recommend a simple autotune type programme for Mac / Ableton live?

I am going to admit something:

I have never really got plug ins to work on ableton live.

I have found a file called Mautopitch.component but no .VST or .AU file. I can't get ableton to recognise the .component file in any useful way.

HElp please!

Welcome to the forum! I believe the problem is, Melda does not install to the default VST directory -- it installs to its own folder, which should be something like "C:\Program Files\MeldaProduction".

What you need to do is one of two things:
  • either add that folder (or whatever it is on your system) to the folders your host scans to find VSTs
  • or, uninstall and reinstall, making sure that you change the default install folder to "C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins" (or wherever the rest of your VSTs are).
Then, next time you start your host, it should find the Melda plugins.

Thank you Tom.

I have looked inside /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/ file and there are no .AU or .VST files associated with Melda software...

Can you just confirm that my DAW only needs to use the .component or .vst file to work?

found it! I had to restart (i thought that rescanning the folder using ableton's rescan function would be enough) but i had to restart the DAW.

Many thanks !
