Buzzing sound when loading new multis

Is anyone else experiencing this, on the latest Receptor OS ? If I load a new multi while there's some sound still playing from the old multi (long envelope release, reverb tail, whatever), I hear a constant buzzing sound through the audio out, until the new multi loads. It sounds very much like a small chunk of audio is being looped. Seems to happen with any plugin. I use the ADAT outputs - haven't tested this on the standard analogue outputs. I filed a bug report about this in January, but haven't heard anything about it yet.

It's particularly annoying when playing live when I need to switch between multis in a very short period of time between songs. There's always the risk I'll change patch a little too early, and suffer a a very obvious buzzing noise through the PA for 10+ seconds while the Receptor loads the next multi.

I have been having the same problem on my Receptor 2 Pro. I am using the spdif out. If I change a patch quickly on a live gig and trigger notes while the patch is changing, I get the same type of tone.

This only happened after I upgraded to os 1.9. Before the upgrade everything was running great! Previously I was running Kontakt 3.0.2 and os 1.8.2010621, and not only was there no tone between patch changes, samples loaded quicker!!! I have since upgraded to K 4.24, and my Receptor is much slower changing Kontakt patches. Let us know if you get a definitive answer or solution.

Hey Bill,

Sorry to hear I'm not the only one suffering from this. I hadn't even tried triggering a note while the patch is changing - I'd only noticed it when changing multi while the sound was still decaying after a MIDI note off.

Regarding Kontakt slowing down after upgrading to OS 1.9, do you have dual core enabled? I found it loaded patches noticeably slower with dual core enabled, ironically, so I run with dual core disabled, and it runs fine and loads quickly.

Neil,

I have my Receptor set to respond to patch changes sent to sources. I have one large multi, and my controller sends patch changes to the channels(plugins that I want to access. That way I do not instantiate plugins on each load.

I will try disabling multi core to see if that has any positive effects.

Maybe we should try that analog outs to see if the tone is coming through those as well.

In both (although perhaps you only need to disable it in Kontakt - not sure).

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem of hearing a harsh buzzing noise when changing multis or channel patches, on ADAT/SPDIF outputs? There's a support ticket open for it, but there's no sign of life there:

If this isn't just happening on my Receptor, I'm surprised more people aren't reporting it. It's such an obvious effect if you're using the ADAT outputs, and pretty bad if it happens live...
