I just get envy of those lovely filters in Diva (and Osc, and Fx).

I was listening Bronto Scorpios Beauty Pad, - what is really beauty - and i tried
to remake it in Zebra.

First i tried with vintage filter, then i realised the XMF is much cleaner for this
very slow opening. I have 2 preset with XMF and with XMF-analog - the latest is a bit softer. If you have any idea to make it better?

You can find the examples in Hollo's Free For Jump - Zebra
http://www.kvraudio.com/banks.php?s=dl&id=1650

Satisfied, :) until i turn it on Diva again.

At least we have to wait for the new Zebra osc and filter what Urs promised for this year. That will be great! :)

Put VCF in front of XMF. Set VCF to the HP with drive (can't remember which of the two, I think 12dB):

HP Cutoff 40, Res 10, Drive 20

Set XMF to "biased". Adjust to taste.

Give it a go.

This! And also try to set the keytracking of the HP filter to 100% (You'll have to readjust the cutoff after that).
The keytracking may not add to the authenticity but it can sound cool and it can help to clean up the sound around the fundamental (which is important for pads).

Thank you Urs!!!

:)

Much warmer and thicker already!!!
Just put the HP filter keyfollow around 43 and it makes wonders!

Thanks for the tip Dennis! :)

I can't put 100% keyfollow jet, because i don't have enough cutoff to compensate. :(

But i will keep in mind your advice!

I will make an update for the preset after i can ckeck it LOUD.

Anyway your freebies are full with my favorit red stars! :) Just love them.

Cheers

None of my High pass VCFs have drive, except for in the master FX section.

Use a ModMixer in "sum modulations" mode with a constant of 100% to modulate the cutoff further down :)
I hope that makes sense :hihi:
I'm sure someone will explain it better soon!

I guess you are using the Unempty Dark Horse skin or some other pre 2.5 skin?
The drive of the HP12 filter is only available in Zebras default skin!

While i get some nice filtersweep and warmness with Urs and Dennis advice,
the main body of the sound is dissapierd.

The magnificent horns get muddy and soft.
I tried many different setup to get it back, shorten release, delay, reverb,
messed with filters, envelopes - no luck. -Maybe i get overtweaked. :)
I just get some "BeautyFool Zebra".

I would stay at my first "Beautiful Diva" preset for now.

If anyone get better results please let me know!
