Life getting in the way of another contest...again. My mishaps seem to know exactly when I am trying to enter a ZPC APC or DPC :( Well, I will post my bank for free here since it did not get entered. I will do 1 or 2 more patches beforehand but no rush jobs,...ever. Here are my votes for this DPC. Great work guys, all of you!

Code: Select all

1st - Pink LEDs Bank 5 pints <--- Great control + patches
2rd - diva noob 4 pints <--- Picked up some diva boots
3th - DPC No Zebra Prints 3 pints
4nd - DOG 2 pints
5st - Viva La Diva 1 pint
Favourite patch? Not even going there. You guys must know, there is some truly fantastic work in the banks that got outvoted. It really hurt to not include the beautiful pad work of 91 Newage Bank, for example or excellent theme of City Never Sleeps. I mostly went on number of patches that I gave stars in each bank and if those tied then I tallyed after additional efforts such as playability alternatives and effect the bank as a whole had on my inspiration to start a track, if left only with those patches to lay a foundation. Great work and thank you for sharing! I'll offer up my bank asap chaps.

The final score is very close - so close that I'd like someone to check my adding.

By me reckoning it's:

Code: Select all

1st City Never Sleeps, Aiyn 81 pts
2nd Viva La Diva, Doc Jon 80 pts
3rd Pink LEDs Bank, Bronto Scorpio 70 pts
So congrats to Aiyn (I think). :)

I'll fill in the rest of the scores and put author names to banks tomorrow.

Oh I am so surprised who the authors were, not who I was thinking at all!

Can we get a list of all the authors and the banks they submitted? I'd like to know who made all the banks. Contratz to the winners! :D

Edit: Oops, didn't see that last bit on your post.. so, uh, just contgratz to the winners!...

Post

Okay my count

City Never Sleeps 83
pink leds 70
viva la diva 80

In other words exactly what you counted.

I am so glad so many liked it! I am stunned. Thanks to everyone who voted!

I just counted the top two several times in different orders, to get front-to-back and back-to-front match and then once more per patch to for a final check ... 81, 80 as posted by Hakey ... about the final totals for all patches, :-o thanks Hakey

Nicely done Aiyn and everyone!

Post

Congratulations, Aiyn. Well done.

Congrats Aiyn! Well deserved. And , to everyone else,
I enjoyed all of your banks. You all made it tough to pick a favorite
:-o :)

BTW, I just realized how my signature quote might sound in context.

It's just my current quotation and does not reflect on this contest!!

Congrats Aiyn, some cool patches in there! :)
What u-he product are you going to choose?

Doc Jon please PM me for your prize.

OK it's time for the usual.. "What I've learned during this edition" and I invite everyone to join in!

I've learned that quantifying an LFO is a load of fun as well switching to duo-phonic mode instead of mono/legato :)
...Use very small amounts of chorus to "color" the hi end of the spectrum.
...Some higher settings of the LED knob results in having 2 colors in parallel. (i.e. SEQ_Endangered Species from Chip of the Ol' Block)
...Use the Plate with very low size value to alter the phase on the entire spectrum and inject a high amount of color... damp value will help isolate the bass, (can also act like EQ cut, decay at minimum, use size to fine-tune frequency). Did something similar with the delay module before but not with the reverb.

...The most important may be that I found a way around for controlling the perceived envelope size with velocity via LFO like shown in the patch below.

Now, this is far from replacing the key/vel interactions within Zebra's envelopes... but it will help for more expressiveness! :)

Even though I didn't vote for all the banks and patches, I sure do have some other favorite ones!
Good job everyone, hope to see you in the next patch contest which I guess it will be about TyN6 ;)

Cheers,
3ee
