I just noticed in the Bargains thread a mention of Acoustic Bridge software by Stardock. I have no experience with that, but I HIGHLY recommend that you check out their free Fences program:

http://www.stardock.com/products/fences/

I've used it for years; it allows me to have the beautiful illusion that my desktop is actually organized, and that I'm a much more together person than I really am. It's great! :D

Rubbish demo but you get the quality of it.

Anyway what do you guys think of CSR? Good price right now here it is agains Relab LX480. I tried to match but they are not exactly the same

http://soundcloud.com/aiyn-zahev/guitar-with-csr-lx480

CSR first the LX480

Again horrible demo because the instrument has distortion on it but you can still hear the tails. Its hard to hear in this demo because the reverb is overdone but in my opinion the LX480 is a lot smoother and richer.

Yes, that is a correct opinion. However, there are two sides to the case, and if you just flip your perspective around, this could happen.

"the CSR is a lot more unobtrusive than the LX480, which sticks out like a sore thumb. imagine that verb trying to sit in a high track count mix" (in reference to the lx480 settings you showed in your short comparison demo).

I too, like what I'm hearing from 69's lx480. But the safer one would be CSR for any mix. You could thin lx480 out with eq or apply it only to the side or something, but csr is straight up easier to handle bam fast.

Of course, this is because I am a bad mixer. A pro mixer would find somewhere to fit lx480 in if that's the sound they're going for.

If you gave me one of the two for free I would choose the lx480 :D

I remember looking at this awhile ago. Does anyone have this and can comment in the gossip thread? Thanks.

I have imported the whole bundle into Stylus RMX. While the usability varies and as quite alot of styles are available - some appealing to me some not - I consider Total Rex as a rich sample pool you can leverage for various musical styles. I bought it for 150 USD at the time - and I still make use of it. For the current offer you cant go wrong.

cheers

Thanks Frank.
The only thing I use REX for is drum/perc loops. I've got the Sonic Reality REX RAW packages (which are mostly drum/perc) and love 'em. But there looks like a fair amount of instrumental loops in the Total Rex Pack. I suppose that for 25£ (whatever that is in USD) I probably can't go too wrong.

It is 40 USD - You can buy directly from Zero G at 35 USD (i.e. you don't need to pay the VAT if outside the EU) http://www.zerogdownload.com/store/product/471/

They are just standard rex files, so as long as whatever you want to use supports rex, yes

Whatever you do, don't buy for this link if you live in the UK. Paypal will add an extra £3 in currency conversion - £28.

Buy from this link at £25:

I just made this mistake! :bang:

EDIT: This is a great sample pack. There are some really useful loops in it. I'm having great fun with it in Reaper. It loads the rex files as slices but you can glue them together as one loop. Well worth £25.

I agree with Total REX - it may not be the cutting edge, but at £25 it's kind of a no brainer. Quality is very good and the content is pretty broad.
