How could i live without microtonic before?

Me too, Microtonic is a real gem and should have gotten it a long time ago.
My new setup is Microtonic followed by Punch on the same track. Ironically, it's MT providing the real punch and Punch smoothing it out with depth although Punch does really punchy snares.

Thanks JoeCat,JoeCat wrote: Tatoo:
Sorry I'm yet another post that can't help you. I also own Axon, but do wish AD had demos rather than purchase/return.
Did you see this btw?

Good comparison of the sounds from Tatoo, ADM, and Microtonic with examples.
that's exactly what i was looking for. And the sound examples showed me that i don't like the Tattoo sound at all. It's somehow muddy and lifeless (IMHO!).
So my decision will be: Nepheton or ADM.
Let's see if i can afford one of those next month after buying heating oil.

i own microtonic, but i have to say i was questioning my microtonic loyalty when i recently dled the old freebie drumatic. drumatic is very powerful and in the right hands, seems more powerful in sounddesign/sound quality. yes its free, and yes its synthedit. so what
that said i dont usually use freeware because im under the belief that payware is always better. i wonder what others think?

i must admit drumatic 3 probably has my favourite sound out of all the drum synths i have tried (microtonic, tattoo and linplugs rmiv) or perhaps i just find it easier to find the sound i want? Certainly an excellent sounding plug with a great interface.AstralExistence wrote:i own microtonic, but i have to say i was questioning my microtonic loyalty when i recently dled the old freebie drumatic. drumatic is very powerful and in the right hands, seems more powerful in sounddesign/sound quality. yes its free, and yes its synthedit. so whatthat said i dont usually use freeware because im under the belief that payware is always better. i wonder what others think?
Bit of an eye (ear?) opener to hear autechre using microtonic. Been an avid fan since day one - quaristice and oversteps are currently getting plenty of rotation

As i said before i would still use Drumatic (2 + 3) if it would run fine on my daw. It's no matter of freeware or not. But almost every Synth Edit plug crashes my Cubase 6.5/64. Even jbridge doesn't do the trick.AstralExistence wrote:i own microtonic, but i have to say i was questioning my microtonic loyalty when i recently dled the old freebie drumatic. drumatic is very powerful and in the right hands, seems more powerful in sounddesign/sound quality. yes its free, and yes its synthedit. so whatthat said i dont usually use freeware because im under the belief that payware is always better. i wonder what others think?
Same with Synthmaker, even if only the gui is coded with it. No Variety of Sound plugin runs fine for me.
I wouldn't look any further when Waldorf Attack had an own sequencer.

The one exception to that rule I've found is the Tyrell N6. That thing smokes many higher-end big-name synth plugs.AstralExistence wrote:i dont usually use freeware because im under the belief that payware is always better. i wonder what others think?

I haven't touched microtonic ever since getting Tremor, I have to say. I'm sure I'll get back to it at some point, but Tremor offers so much more.
Still think the 'tonic is a marvel of efficiency, though. To get so many different sounds out of a rather simple tone generator is nothing short of miraculous. The sound quality is superb, and the Patternarium can be a real creative boost.
I'll try to dig up an old tune of mine that uses Tattoo sometime later, to give you an idea of what I mean. Some have called its sound "bland" - you can make a case for that, but I actually think that's one of its strengths. I wouldn't call it "bland" but rather "innocuous", which, at first glance, may not be something you'd expect from a drum synth. However, because of that, it lends itself extremely well to external FX processing.

Would you be interested in selling Microtonic?ariston wrote:I haven't touched microtonic ever since getting Tremor, I have to say. I'm sure I'll get back to it at some point, but Tremor offers so much more.
