We are currently working on
- a) getting some of the harshness out of this plugin
b) getting some warm mid frequencies
c) trying to ignore that intransparent fourth sound element of Plex
d) ignoring a) to c) and building some cold, thin, harsh and somewhat random track if all else fails.

Cheers Skyzone.
Big shame with the Plex tech troubles for so many. Unexpected but admit not much went into the synth selection this time in terms of testing etc so take a bit of blame here but as a Cubase to Reaper emigrant I should probably have known not to blindly trust Steinberg when it comes to reliability..

Interesting one. It sounds like Bidule where one isn't really sure if it's a DAW or synth. Can it be loaded as a VST in another host?vanmorrison wrote:Hi, since I find very good the free software sunvox... are you going to put that in a contest?

i only get the crackles or clicks with certain sounds but not much, having a small attack and release rather than set to zero seems to help me (although i think im refering to clicking here) using the latest version of FL (10.0.9)
i dont like the pitch LFO in plex, its only good for light vibrato so would i be allowed to bounce just to use a pitch envelope on the audio for making drums?
also i want to put the volume VERY loud to cause extreme peaking on a couple of my sounds, is that allowed? i asked before in the Charlatan competition & it was fine apparently but this time iv been putting the volume pretty damn high (obviously it gets lowered again at the end, not gona post a song thats +3db
)
plex has a big volume knob so i hope its ok putting it a bit loud aye

Yes you can do whatever you want with the synth, but sampling/bouncing must not be used for anything other than saving CPU etc, nothing creative at all.

For folks unfamiliar with Studio 1337 and its predecessors, its a
small fast linux, set up with wineasio, easy to use with vsts, and
a host, usually reaper, or energyXT2. You can direct reapers output,
to a wide variety of fx, run it in conjunction with linux zynaddsubfx
synth, hydrogen drum machine, and record it all with timemachine
and ardour.
Earlier, I had Diva routed through reaper, to the excellent linux multi-fx app
rakarrack, with linux running in RAM on a computer without a hard-disk, using
a Big-Tone Diva preset with a favorite multifx combo. Rakarrack lets you place
ten fx from a large group, in custom raks, according to purpose.
As a prize, this can add portability, productivity, creativity,
and a dose of freedom, a more secure way to download things,
if your daw is kept offline.
Cheers
edit: most plugins that are free of ilok, dongles, pace, macromedia, or convoluted
CR will work. Most NI and IK installers work, U-he, Wusikstation, AlgoMusic, Ugo,
TAL, HG Fortune, Cakewalk, Camel Audio work. Probably 85-90% of plugins work in reaper. But quite a few Synthmaker releases fail at the gui drawing, while SynthEdit releases are OK.

Amazing the small footprint of this setup. OS, DAW, synths and effects running from a memory stick is neat.
And cheers for the submission Kraftraum, good that Plex worked fine on your system.

I've just added my entry.
I hope it's listennable, I always find it quite hard to make music with only one synth. For my track I have used the presets that came with the instrument, a lot of tape saturators (all freewares) & compression/limiters. I hope it's ok!
Let me know if there's anything wrong with the way I have proceeded!
Host:
FL Studio 9
around 6 Plex instances
Plugins used:
Fruity Reverb (as a send)
Master:
JB Ferox
FerricTDS
Fruity Limiter
I think that's all, but I have a check on my laptop to see if that's all.
