None taken! I believe no single UI ever pleased everybody.
Indeed the Lime skins are very nice.
Seems it made my whole skin code very worthwhile.

Thanks

Hello

We just posted an interview with Mike Morasky of Valve on his use of chipsounds in the Portal 2 video game soundtrack. In my opinion its a great demonstration that chipsounds can be used effectively in other genres than just 8bit or 'chiptune'

Thanks for posting the interview. It was very informative and inspiring.
I also downloaded the Portal 2 OST and it is an amazing piece of work.
Mike is a very talented guy. I have a project for which I am contemplating
using chipsounds but I didn't want the typical chiptune approach. He
has opened my eyes to a world of possibilities in these sounds.
Cheers,
Scott

My pleasure! If you play the game, you hear even more subtle dynamic cues getting cross faded in and out, all synched to the music. Also the game definitely has that Half-life DNA which I've been drawn to since 1998. (yeah i admit i spent most of my week-end free time on it)

I'm not willing to punt this ancient gem, but it hurts my eyes. Do any skins from this decade exist?

Yep. Mainly thanks to the layering stuff you can do in the "Mixer" tab. Still an obvious "chiptune" flavoring, but MUCH fatter and more versatile sounds.

Ok I was bored. Not a full skin, just cleaned it up a bit and got rid of the fake metal. Would love to see an actual graphic designer take a crack, this thing is too good to be ugly.
