@ Simon
I going with something very pricey I have put off for a long time. I want the rhythmic movements.
When iris gets there, I'll give it another round of consideration.
I read your Omni thread - good luck with ithibidy wrote:I'm outta the race.

I don't understand what you mean by "synchronize" two samples. What are you trying to do? They are always synchronized, unless you use the playback delay option.Caine123 wrote:so what i dont like is that you cannot synchronize 2 samples with playback thats somehow fiddly adjust both looppoints exactly with crossfades, i considered buying it but without this crucial option it's out.
hmmmm i mean for example i got 2 samples 1 is 30 secs the other 20 secs and i take:ariston wrote:I don't understand what you mean by "synchronize" two samples. What are you trying to do? My guess is that you're trying to achieve something where Iris is probably not your best option.
Ah, I see. Well, without the time stretching, you're going to have to do this a different way. One "easy" workaround is to just use longer samples. This isn't suitable for percussive material, but you can always stretch that elsewhere.Caine123 wrote: hmmmm i mean for example i got 2 samples 1 is 30 secs the other 20 secs and i take:
1. sample: 4 secs part in the middle of it and let it crossfaded so there is a nice blend bwd/forward played.
2. sample: i use the whole lower part (painted) and let 10 seconds continuosly played forward.
not i want that those 2 are played endlessly when i hit a button without a gap.
so it gets maybe a soundscape without hearing any end.
hmmmmmm, thanks for the tip but that is really hindering the workflow in my opinion and makes this VERY potential product again with a downsideariston wrote:Ah, I see. I've been playing around yesterday, stretching a few samples with Paulstretch and then loading them into Iris.
It's here:lionscub68 wrote:Here's a thought...
What's iZotope's resale policy?
Is their software NFR?
I'm like a few others in this string: not quite sure if Iris is gonna do it for me or not, yet it's still interesting enough to take the plunge.
I don't wanna be stuck with it if I decide it's not doing much for me & my toolbox in a month, and be out $149-$249.
