Well, the closest kind of things I've been able to come up with are mallet percussion and harp/harpsichord type sounds. Everything I've read online about vector synthesis techniques states that the primary weakness is a complete lack of realistic Piano, Brass, and lush Strings, although building up a string track can be done by layering a ton of individual voices - your mileage may vary. The only problem is that it will definitely not be realistic, just kind of a synthy approximation somewhere between the mellotron string sound and the mellotron flute sound.SuperNoise wrote:Welcome,
Does anybody has some tips how to synthese sounds like 'piano'? Any video material, www, anything in electronic format?
Thank you in advance.
So if you want to go the synthetic impressionistic route, it's just whatever works. You can certainly get electric-piano like sounds with enough tweaking. But I think you may be out of luck if you're trying to recreate a real piano. Embrace the complete synthesized experimental nature of the medium and you can get sounds you've never heard anywhere else.
