Figured that would get your attention Urs! Damn I must have been solicited at least a dozen times that night! :o

So when is 1.5?
How do you get on the Beta team?
What is the name of the scientist who did the studies with rats you talked about?
Do you check your PMs?
where's OSXAudio?

Preview to be out soon...

... it's gotta be technically finished tomorrow, for the Electronic Musician review...
machinesworkinghardforyou wrote:How do you get on the Beta team?
simply ask for it... preferredly by email, and as often as it takes to draw my attention :D
machinesworkinghardforyou wrote:What is the name of the scientist who did the studies with rats you talked about?
Rupert Sheldrake?!?
machinesworkinghardforyou wrote:Do you check your PMs?
Yes... but it's better to send email, so I can put them in my "priority stuff" folder... ;)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

And more importantly; how is Zebra doing going down the PC pipeline :?: You must need beta'ers in that area too

I donated for the MFM which was my first online buy, to only find out your promised synths were Mac-based only except the MFM. Hmmmmmmm, I could use that to get on the beta-team.......

Mails coming your way :P

Hehe... I'm still working on 1.5, fine tunings mostly, until the end of April. The PC port will be done from mid of May to July/August by a guy who I think is capable of doing so. It will probably also include new features scheduled in the roadmap, so there's gonna be some parallel development...

... of course, everything depends upon how all things develop... not easy to live from a single plugin... I might have to get out some other stuff as well, wich could conflict with the schedules...

However, when time comes for beta testing, say around late June, I'll ask a bunch of guys - maybe publicly - to do the beta testing. Beta testing is like this: If you contribute, you'll get a free copy, but it's a very hard time, and only 30-40% of the testers survive this. :D

And just so you all know what to expect, version 1.5 is fantastic! Feels like double the synth now, and it was damn good already! Good work Urs ;)

can you still get zebra for $79?

nope... that had been the introduction offer when it was still a beta version... so to say, for the brave who dare to adopt early (and are quite lucky right now :D )...

Zebra is 159$ currently. It will go up to 199$ when 1.5 is out, but latter is a free upgrade... in a way, the 159$ for V1.0 are kinda introduction offer for 1.5...

Hehehe, we can now officially announce that this man is no less than Stefan Kuhn! You know him from his Vivaldi! and Ganymed synths!

His work on the Jewel gui framework with transfer modes, transparency and tabbed panes convinced me that a PC port is possible, after all!

Stefan and me are currently talking about how-tos and what-tos, as I'll have to clean up Zebra's code and remove everything maccy and AUish from the dsp part...

A word before you ask for betas or anything... it will take some weeks for me to have a raw VST working... then hand it over to Stefan, with a lot of extra documentation that has to be written. Structural changes have to be worked out to accomodate the transition from CAUGui to Jewel.

Somewhere, maybe, some dsp routines have to be optimised for the x86 platform (I do a lot of PowerPC tricks, hence I might have to switch back to conventional in some areas).

So, dudes, it is set in stone. Please be patient for another couple of months, as this is still gonna be a huge effort...

Stefan and I will keep you posted!

Cheers,

;) Urs
