… with Sascha having just joined the team (hello ! good luck!), with the DIVA filters, with everything the U-he team is secretly preparing in their backyard, I was wondering whether it would just be too much for us mere mortals when Zebra3 will come out, whenever it will be.

Urs, are you planning on putting some kind of warning on your site ?

I mean, these are public health issues, should not be dealt with à la légère…

Yes, the release of Zebra 3 will coincide with the end of the Earth on December 21th 2012. We must all come together and stop the evil Urs and his team from destroying humity.

For more information go here, this is serious folks:

I also heard that if the Zebra 3 Project fails to destroy the Earth they will unleash Diva 2 which is going to make the universe collapse in on itself.

Sometimes I just feel concerned, but powerless, like a cat, tied to a stick, that's driven into frozen winter s**t.

And all I needed was just a synth, and now the world will end. …duh.

Post

Zebra 3 (and more Uhbiks) will be very welcome - and if DIVA is anything to go by, they will probably be the best out there at time of release.

However, they're not the second coming.

And if the world is really going to end for you, then why purchase them because you won't be alive to use them?

We die? no but very probably cpu's will :p

Isn't one of Zebra's paradigms low CPU use? Of course, XMF filters changed that a bit, but it's still nothing compared to ACE or Diva. I would suspect (and hope) that Zebra 3 would continue with a similar paradigm of low CPU use.

yes, this is exactly what I have in mind. it's one of the things I like so much about zebra. amazing synth, and you can still get like a hundred instance before cpu crash.

Zebra3 is just a cover. The Berlin modular is what they are keeping under wraps.

Zebra's paradigm is *choice* :)

Whatever filter technology hops over from Diva will have per-module quality/cpu-hogginess settings.

Fack, no wonder my company said raises will be 22 December this year.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Hmmmm...maybe Revelations was misinterpreted and the white, black, red, and pale horses ridden by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse weren't actually four different colored horses, but one multi-colored one. :help:

although zebra 3 will be packed with every goody i could wish for...i think i will skip it for bazille and the berlin modular cos they will have more the workflow i prefer and that inspires me.
so i'll survive for a little longer....unless i die of jealousy for not having it ;P (i know i ill be tempted...)

I was fantasizing the other day about what an LFO would be like if it had the wavetable options of the oscillators. You could do some crazy beatlocked wibbles by morphing or x-fading between different harmonic sinewaves as an LFO, amongst many other exciting things. Many of my wavetables would be ideal for morphing LFOs... Is that kind of thing plausible for Zebra 3?
